CHIARA DONN • Victoria Paradis is the designer of the Princesse Anastasia luxury brand for girls that blends two cultures: her collections combine a nostalgic Russian soul and elegant Parisian style. Victoria turns little girls into princesses and makes them feel like a refined Marie Antoinette and a delicate Anastasia Romanov, without forgetting to add a Parisian ‘boho’ hippy chic touch. Russian by birth, Victoria Paradis moved to Paris fifteen years ago. After extensive training in Russian fashion schools, she developed her own expertise. Mainly specializing in coats, jackets, vests and faux furs, Victoria designs high quality products made of refined fabrics with exquisite detailing. From design to production, her creations are made in France in cooperation with Parisian workshops with great experience in the fashion industry. Her first collection created in 2011 and called ‘Une Balade a Paris’ (A stroll in Paris) was inspired by the city neighborhoods, with clothes worn to explore the Louvre, Montmartre, and Alexandre III Bridge. Victoria is not only strongly influenced by the French capital and its unique atmosphere, but also by Saint Petersburg, which she considered the center of Russian culture, and by its past. Her upcoming winter collection is very colorful, with her popular faux furs and toasty warm down jackets that are sometimes reversible. The brand is also distributed abroad, mainly in Korea, Russia, Japan and also China. “Guffanti, our Italian partner in Milan, will present our brand on an international level. Starting this winter, it will also be sold at la Rinascente in Milan,” says Victoria. “My partner Sandra Courtine joined me this year for this great adventure.” Latest news: Victoria Paradis is finishing ‘Romanov Paris’, a new collection for women that will be presented next January and will also include beautiful faux furs. • Immersed in the world of jeans, Finger in the Nose is the practical, functional children’s collection for everyday living that offers basic urban clothes. “Comfort, simplicity and style is our motto,” says Jean Yves Campion, co-founder of the brand and collections director. “Our customers are usually very knowledgeable about fashion, music and design, and they expect new ideas from were completely redesigned. Talking about future projects, Jeans Yves Campion says, “We opened our second boutique in Paris, on the Left Bank, just a year ago, and we’re planning on opening a third. We want to expand our distribution abroad.” Finger in the Nose is already sold in most of Europe and Japan through its network of agents and in Italy through the Rasi showroom in Milan. “We have clients in Australia and Canada, and we’ve been receiving request from the Far East and Middle East as well. The collection offers a complete wardrobe with a vast selection of jeans and windbreakers. “We focus on finishes and details, and, above all, we want our garments to be durable. We strongly believe in customer loyalty,” concludes Jean Yves Campion. Intendiamo sviluppare la nostra distribuzione all’estero”. Crediamo us. Our objective is to offer them what they’re looking for through a simple, contemporary approach.” The Finger in the Nose collection does not classify its clothes according to age: the same styles are presented for children from 2 to 16 years of age, and the collection includes nearly 200 articles. The style is inspired by all the themes and ideas influencing young fashion and trends: the vintage American world can be re-interpreted to create a contemporary line with a European mood. For the winter collection, the brand presents an urban look where black and gray are featured in rocker-style fabrics and chic outfits. Another theme - country-chic - blends colors and materials such as wool and denim, jeans and velvet, or wool and leather. It combines navy blue and black for a rocker version of a classic. For the 2014 summer collection, Finger in the Nose focuses on surfing, sporty-college, and folk-rock themes. Several T-shirts are bleached or tie-dyed; others have sophisticated prints and designs that add a vibrant, unconventional touch. The jeans line has been renewed for the next two seasons, with new super-slim and comfortable styles that complete the classic looks. Designer Cristel Vizioli wanted the most noble and valuable cashmere to interpret a contemporary rock-chic look embellished with Swarovski crystals. Frenchy Yummy combines the exclusiveness of cashmere and the brilliance of crystals. The ‘Jewel’ sweater with Swarovski crystals has become a signature item that has made Frenchy Yummy famous.
