PATRIZIA ORCIANI
Soprano
Patrizia Orciani started her vocal studies under the guidance of Vincenzo Cecchetelli, Leone Magiera,
Rodolfo Celletti, Sergio Bertocchi and Paola Molinari. After her successful debut as Mimì in La bohème at
the Corte Malatestiana in Fano, her native town, she has established an extraordinary international career,
performing regularly on the world’s most prestigious concert stages and opera houses including Teatro alla
Scala, Wiener Staatsoper, Opernhaus in Zürich, Teatro Real and Teatro de la Zarzuela in Madrid, Mozarteum
in Salzburg, Liceu in Barcelona, Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Opera in Bonn, Opera in Köln, Orquestra
Sinfônica do Estado de São Paulo, Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow, New National Theatre in Tokyo, Teatro
“Perez Caldos” in Las Palmas, Opera in Tenerife, Teatro Comunale di Bologna, Teatro Comunale in Firenze,
Teatro La Fenice in Venezia, Teatro dell’Opera in Roma, Teatro Regio in Parma, Teatro San Carlo in
Napoli, Teatro Regio in Torino, Teatro Carlo Felice in Genova, Teatro Massimo “V. Bellini” in Catania,
Arena di Verona, Accademia Chigiana in Siena, only to name a few.
She has worked with such important conductors as Claudio Abbado, Bruno Bartoletti, Daniele Callegari,
Frédéric Chaslin, Gianandrea Gavazzeni, Gustav Kuhn, Alain Lombard, Peter Maag, Lorin Maazel, John
Neschling, Daniel Oren, Stefano Ranzani, Donato Renzetti, Nello Santi, Hubert Soudant, Marc Soustrot.
Recently she has had a warm success performing as Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni, as Anna in I cavalieri di
Ekebù by Zandonai, as Maddalena in Andrea Chénier, as Ms. Jessel in The Turn of the Screw, as Giulietta in
Les contes d’Hoffmann, as Duchessa in Rusalka, as Samaritana in Francesca da Rimini, as Madame Lidoine
in Les dialogues des Carmélites, as Alice in Falstaff at the Opernhaus in Zürich, at the Teatro Regio di
Torino and at the Teatro Filarmonico di Verona.
Recently she made her role debut as Tatjana in Evgenij Onegin at the Teatro Carlo Felice in Genova. She
also performed as Duchessa in Rusalka and the title role in Amica at the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma and at
the Teatro Sociale in Rovigo, Les contes d’Hoffmann at the Teatro Regio di Torino and Patto di Sangue by
Matte D’Amico at the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino (world premiere) and Tannhäuser (Venere) al Teatro
Verdi di Trieste.
During the last two seasons 2010/12 she took part in important productions, including Pollicino (La Madre)
at the Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino in Florence, Edgar (Fidelia) and Tannhäuser (Venere) at the
Teatro Comunale di Bologna, The Merry Widow (Hanna Glawari) at the Teatro Filarmonico di Verona,
Francesca da Rimini (Francesca) and L’amico Fritz (Suzel) at the Teatro Verdi di Trieste, Help, Help, The
Globolinks by Menotti at the Teatro Massimo di Palermo.
During the 2012/13 season she performed as Amelia in Un ballo in maschera (Amelia) at Teatro Massimo
V. Bellini di Catania, followed by Stravinskij’s Pulcinella at Teatro Carlo Felice di Genova.
She opened the 2013/14 season performing as Miss Jessel in Britten’s The Turn of the Screw at Teatro
Comunale di Bologna, followed by Il Campiello at Maggio Musicale Fiorentino in Florence.
Her future plans include Il Campiello (Orsolo) at Teatro Verdi di Trieste.
Also active in the concert field, she held concerts in Italy and abroad. Her most recent recitals in Moscow
and Tokyo have gained tremendous success.
Her discography includes L’italiana in Londra (Livia) by Cimarosa and Nina, ossia la pazza per amore
(Nina) for Bongiovanni, Giulio Cesare (Cleopatra) for Nuova Era, Bianca e Falliero (Costanza) for Ricordi
and Il signor Bruschino (Sofia) for Claves.
