6 - PERIPHERALS
Describe the functions and features of common computer peripheral devices. You must also identify
which of the following four categories each device belongs to.
1) Input – A Hardware device that allows the user to put data into the computer.
2) Output – A Hardware device that allows the user to take data out of the computer.
3) Processing – A hardware device that performs calculations, conversions, or manages the flow of
information.
4) Storage – A hardware device that holds information.

o Function: The mouse allows an individual to control a pointer in a graphical user interface
