2, Donatella Ottaviani, Biologo Dirigente, richiede l'autorizzazione per la partecipazione al 3
rd European EAVLD Congress, che si terrà a PISA dal 12 al 15 ottobre 2014, da imputare
alla RC0102011;
3, Francesco Feliziani, Veterinario Dirigente, richiede l'autorizzazione per la partecipazione
al 3 rd European EAVLD Congress, che si terrà a PISA dal 12 al 15 ottobre 2014, da
imputare alla ricerca europea ASFORCE;
4, Francesco Feliziani, Veterinario Dirigente, richiede l'autorizzazione per la partecipazione
al Meeting 2014 EPIZONE, che si terrà a Copenhagen dal 23 al 25 settembre 2014, da
imputare alla RC0082012;
VISTO l'art, 6, comma 12, del D.L. 7812010, a norma del quale a decorrere dall'anno 2011 le
amministrazioni pubbliche inserite nel conto economico consolidato della pubblica
amministrazione, non possono effettuare spese per missioni, anche all'estero, per un ammontare
superiore al 50 per cento della spesa sostenuta nell'anno 2009, con esclusione di quelle
indispensabili
comunitari;
per assicurare la partecipazione
a riunioni presso enti e organismi internazionali o
DATO ATTO che le missioni in argomento rientrano nella fattispecie esclusa dal limite di spesa ai
sensi dell'art, 6 citato, in quanto le parteCipazionisono legate a progetti di ricerca con finanziamenti
definiti nel progetto per la partecipazione a convegni/corsi/acquisizione tecniche innovative e/o
riunioni;
VISTA la deliberazione del Consiglio di Amministrazione n, 10 del 18,09,2002 con cui è stato
approvato il Regolamento per l'espletamento delle missioni;
VISTO l'art, 2 del Regolamento, a norma del quale per le missioni in territorio estero
l'autorizzazione preventiva è conferita dal Direttore Generale;
VISTO inoltre l'art, 8 "Trattamento economico di missione all'estero - Personale di tutte le
categorie", e le successive modificazioni intervenute con Decreto Legge n, 78 del 31/05/2010
convertito con Legge n, 122 del 30/0712010;

VISTE le deliberazione del Direttore Generale n. 106 del 13.05.2011, n. 257 del 14.10.2011, n. 9
del 18.01.2012 e n. 24 del 15 gennaio 2013 con cui sono stati definiti i budget per le missioni e per
i costi relativi ai progetti di ricerca, ai sensi delle quali:
con riguardo alla ricerca corrente: è individuato il Responsabile scientifico del progetto quale
responsabile in ordine alla gestione economica delle risorse affidate, con specifici atti
autorizzativi, mentre è individuato quale responsabile del budget il Direttore del Centro di
Responsabilità. A tal fine la richiesta di partecipazione dovrà essere sottoscritta sia dal
responsabile scientifico del progetto che dal direttore del Centro di Responsabilità;
con riguardo alle Ricerche Finalizzate dovrà essere verificata la disponibilità residua del piano
finanziario da parte del Responsabile Amministrativo della Gestione Ricerche e dai
Responsabili Scientifici previa verifica dei risconti con l'Ufficio di Bilancio;
Infine, per quanto attiene alle ricerche finalizzate, sulle quali il Responsabile Amministrativo
dell'Ufficio Ricerche predispone il rendiconto economico da inviare all'ente erogatore delle
risorse e che l'u. O. Controllo di Gestione gestisce come centro di costo di attività, le
autorizzazioni e le responsabilità sono di esclusiva competenza del Responsabile Scientifico
della ricerca stessa e del Responsabile Amministrativo dell'Ufficio Ricerche;
VISTA la deliberazione del Direttore Generale n. 106/2011 che definisce il conto n. 52221312 per
spese relative alle quote di iscrizione ai Convegni in territorio nazionale ed estero;
VISTE le richieste di partecipazione a convegni pervenute aII'UO. Gestione Ricerche e Progetti
Speciali, formulate dagli interessati nell'apposito modulo RP/01 per il personale a tempo
indeterminato, allegate alla presente per farne parte integrante e sostanziale;
DATO ATTO, pertanto, che l'U.O. Gestione Ricerche e Progetti Speciali, dal 06/06/2011,
prowederà ad inoltrare le iscrizioni del personale per la partecipazione a Convegni indicate nella
tabella n. 1 allegata;
RILEVATO che il presente prowedimento è autorizzati va dei costi di iscrizione ai Convegni come
da tabella n. 1, e dei relativi costi di missioni;
RILEVATO che i costi complessivi di iscrizione e missione per la partecipazione del personale alle
attività formative indicate nell'allegato tabella n. 1, rientrano nei budget assegnati nei vari progetti
di ricerca alle varie Articolazioni Organizzative/Responsabili Scientifici;
RITENUTO pertanto di autorizzare le missioni all'estero sopraelencate;
VERIFICATA la disponibilità residua del piano finanziario delle ricerche da parte dei Responsabile
Scientifici delle stesse;
VISTA la dichiarazione di regolarità tecnica, per quanto di competenza, rilasciata d
dell'U.O. Gestione Ricerche e Progetti Speciali;
ACQUISITO il parere favorevole del Direttore Sanitario, per la parte di competenz , ai sensi e per

DELIBERA
1. autorizzare le missioni all'estero e la partecipazione del personale proposto dai Direttori di Area
e/o di Sezione e dai Responsabili Scientifici;
2.
di autorizzare l' U.O. Gestione Ricerche Progetti Speciali:
a procedere agli adempimenti amministrativi e contabili necessari per l'iscrizione dei
suddetti dipendenti a convegni e corsi per attività di ricerca indicate nella tabella 1;
ad imputare i suddetti costi di iscrizione ai rispettivi budget per attività di ricerca assegnati
alle Articolazioni Organizzative, cosi come individuati nella Deliberazione del Direttore
Generale n. 106/2011, n. 257/2011 e n. 9 del 18.01.2012;
3. di autorizzare l'U.O. Bilancio ad effettuare il versamento delle quote di iscrizione, indicate nella
tabella n. 1, secondo le modalità indicate nella tabella stessa sul conto n. 52221312 "Costi per
organizzazione e coordinamento progetti di ricerca" del Bilancio Economico Preventivo - Conto
Economico 2014;
4.
di autorizzare l'U.O. Amministrazione
del Personale a rimborsare le spese di missione
sostenute dal personale con imputazione al conto n. 52221313 facendo riferimento al budget
previsto per ciascuno progetto;
5. di trasmettere il presente prowedimento
al Personale indicato nella tabella n. 1;
6. di incaricare il personale indicato nella tabella n. 1 allegata al presente prowedimento

INTRODUCTION
Recent studies performed in Europe showed that emerging enteropathogens, such as Arcobacter spp.,
Escherichia coli 0157 and Closlridium difficile, were isolaled from shellfish (1,2,3,6).
Of ali Arcobacler spp., A. butzleri, A. cryaerophilus and A. skirrowii had been associated with gastrointestinal
disease in humans. In particular, A. bulzleri is the most important species far human infection and it has been
c1assified as a serious hazard to human health by the Intemational Commission on Microbiological Specification
far Food (2, 5).
MATERIAL & METHOOS
From December 2012 untill February 2014, 93 samples of shellfish from different coastal areas of the Adriatic Sea
in Region Marche, centrai Ilaly, were analyzed. These included 20 samples of mussels (Mytilus gatloprovincialis)
and 73 samples of clams (Chamelea gallina). Ali mussels and 13 c1ams were from Class A areas, while the
remaining 60 samples of clams were collected from Class 8 areas (7). Sample preparation was performed
according to the UNI EN ISO 6887-3:2004.
Detection of pathogens was performed as follows: Arcobacler spp. according to the method proposed by L.
Collado et al. (2009), E. coli 0157 according lo the ISO 16654:2001 and C. difficile according to the method
proposed by V. Pasquale et al (2012). The identification of Arcobacler spp. was performed with rpoB gene
sequencing (1).
RESULTS
Of the 93 shellfish samples analyzed, 41 (44 'lo) were positive for Arcobacler spp. The rpoB gene sequencing was
performed far 19 samples of which 13 were A. bulzleri and 6 A. cryaerophylus. Nineteen of the shellfish (20%)
were positive far C. difficile, and ali were negative for E. coli 0157.
Arcobacler spp. was isolated from 6 of the 20 (30%) samples of mussels and from 35 of the 73 (48%) samples of
c1ams. C. difficile was isolaled from 5 ofthe 20 (25%) mussel samples and from 14 ofthe 73 (19%) samples of
clams. 80th pathogens were isolated in 13 of the 93 (14%) samples analyzed, including 3 mussels (23%) and 10
clams (77%).
Ofthe 13 clams from Class A areas, 6 (46%) were positive for Arcobaclerspp.

1 (8%) for both pathogens. Of Ihe 60 clams from Class 8 areas, 7 (12%) were positive far Arcobaclerspp.

(23%) for C. difficile, while 9 (15%) were positive far both pathogens. Also, 35 of 93 (38%) samples were negative
for ali pathogens, of these 8 were mussels (23%) and 27 clams (77%).
DISCUSSION & CONCLUSION
In this study Arcobacler spp. was the most frequently isolated pathogen, followed by C. difficile. E. coli 0157 did
not seem to represenl a risk in the studied produclion areas.
Chamelea gallina seems lo be a more hazardous matrix than Mytilus galloprovincialis, especially far 8 class areas.
To our knowledge, this study is the firsl aimed to evaluate lhe prevalence of these three emerging

Introduction
Wild boars are an important reservoir of Classical swine fever virus. Oral immunisation has been effectively
applied in the past to control this disease based on the conventionally attenuated live vaccine strain "C".,
unfortunately this does not allow differentiation between infected orvaecinated animals. Nowadays, the
construction of a new marker vaccine even suitable for oral application in wild boar population was reported.
(Beer et al., 2007).This candidate vaceine is the chimerie Pestivirus "CP7_E2alf'(Reimann et al., 2004).
Several experimental investigations (Koening et al., 2011;Leifer et al., 2009), have shown the safety and
effieàcy of this vaecine for oral or intramuseular vaccination of domestic pigs and wild boar, but none of
these studies was carried out with a bait formulation. In this eontext two oral vaccination campaigns of wild
boar were carried out in ltaly, with the aim to verify the capability ofthe CP7_E2alfbait vaceine to induce
an effective immunological response infield conditions.
Materials and methods
Two areas were seleeted for the field trials in the Umbria Region (ltaly). The animals were vaccinated with a
live attenuated marker vaccine based on the reeently eonstructed chimeric pestivirus CP7_E2alf. The
immunisation procedure included 2 distinct vaecination campaigns: the first one was started in September
20 Il consisting in a single vaccination; theseeond onewas based on 2 vaecinations with I-week interval
carried out in September 2012.The eampaigns were performed about 30 days before the annual hunting
aetivities when samples for serological investigations were colleeted.Furthermore, I year afterthe second
vaceination campaign (Autumn 2013), additional serologieal tests were performed to evaluate the
immunologica! status ofwild boar popu!ation in the seleeted areas.For antibody detection conventional virus
neutralization test (VNT) was performed aceording to the diagnostic manual of the European Commission
using the referenee CSF virus "Alfort-187".
Results
During the first vaecination campaign (2011), a totai of 168 wild boars were shot;serology showed 59
positive samples (35.1%). After the double vaeeination eampaign (2012), 81 wild boars were shol. Among
them, 27 animals developed CSFV antibodies with a positivity rate of 33.3%Jnterestingly, 23 wild boars
were found antibody positive out of a total of 49 animals shot in the first 4 beatings (46.9%).FinalIy, 4 out of
56 samples derived from the last campaign (2013) were deteeted as positive (7. I4%).
Discussion and conclusions
The present study demonstrates the CP7_E2aIf bait vaccination is able to induce a significant immunization
in wild boar populations.In fact,the observed seroprevalence, was comparable with findings previously
obtained during similar oral vaccination campaigns by application of the C-strain vacc;ne. Particularly
interesting was the evidence that, after one year from the last vaccination campaign, it was stili possible to
detect the presence of vaccinaI antibodies in the target wild boar population.In conclusion, this study
confirms the CP7_E2alf oral vaccination as an effective tool for the control of CSF in wild boar populations.

presence of ASF in Sardinia in 1978 was not of concern;during this long period the ASF virus did n~t escape
Italy.

questions regarding the long-term sustainability of these measureshave arisen.ln this context, considering
the history as well as the recent epidemiologic dynamic of ASF infection, a risk categorization was proposed
for theSardinian territory. The objective was to indicate the areas at higher risk of virai circulation.
The Sardinian municipalities formed the territorial basis of the present study, and four distinct risk ievels
were defineddescribing

variables allocated into three main categories: 1) outbreaks reported in the domestic swine or wild boar
population, 2) evidence of illegal feral swine breeding, and 3) serologic and virologic laboratory findings.
In this initial evaluation, 70% of the Sardinian municipalities were allocated intothe lowest risk category,
whereas only 10% fell into the high-risk category. This assessmentindicates that most of the intervention
