A quindici anni dalla sua prima edizione il Congresso Europeo di Storia dello
Sport torna ad essere organizzato a Firenze. Un evento di grande spessore
culturale e scientifico che avrà per filo conduttore il tema individuato dalla
Commissione Europea per il 2015: lo Sviluppo.
ll Congresso 2015 è organizzato dal Centro Studi per lʼEducazione Fisica e
lʼAttività Sportiva, ente culturale no profit fondato a Firenze nellʼanno 1958,
organizzatore anche del 4° Congresso CESH dellʼanno 1999.
Il Centro Studi ha lo scopo di approfondire i valori scientifici, tecnici, morali e
sociali connessi al campo dellʼeducazione fisica e dellʼattività sportiva.
Persegue le proprie finalità attraverso un centro di documentazione,
comprendente biblioteca ed emeroteca, con lʼorganizzazione di congressi,
convegni e conferenze, con lʼattivazione di ricerche in ambito tecnico e
scientifico.
Il Congresso 2015 è organizzato con lʼapporto dellʼUniversità degli Studi di
Firenze, di altre Università italiane, del Comitato Olimpico Nazionale Italiano,
di associazioni ed enti culturali di vario genere e con il patrocinio del
Comune di Firenze e della Regione Toscana.
CESEFAS
Il programma che si va delineando, con adesioni numerose e di grande
qualità, è arricchito del coinvolgimento innovativo della componente degli
studenti. In particolare, questi ultimi, troveranno nel programma due
interessanti aspetti a loro riservati. Tre borse di studio sono dedicate ai
migliori lavori presentati da studenti al Congresso, secondo le modalità
indicate sul sito. Eʼ inoltre previsto un seminario riservato agli studenti, nella
prima giornata del Congresso, su temi di attualità come la metodologia della
ricerca nella storia dello sport e la preparazione e presentazione di articoli
scientifici.
Una speciale sezione del Congresso sarà inoltre dedicata ad approfondire il
tema del passaggio della Capitale dʼItalia da Firenze - del quale si celebrano
nel 2015 i centocinquanta anni - e diversi studiosi italiani potranno offrire un
proprio contributo sullʼimpulso dato ai primi passi dello sport cittadino e
nazionale da quello straordinario evento.

After 15 years, the 2015 CESH Congress will be held again in Florence
from 22 to 24 October 2015
The CESH 2015 Congress’ theme is the role of sport as a key driver for
development, by enlightening its positive effects and contradictions at
human, social, urban and economic level for people and society.
CESEFAS
The 2015 CEHS Congress is organized by the Research Centre for Physical
Education and Sport Activity (CESEFAS), a cultural no profit institution
founded in Florence in 1958 which organized the 4th CESH Congress back
in 1999. CESEFAS aims to develop scientific, technical, moral and social
values linked to physical education and sport activity. It pursues its goals
through a documentation centre, as well as through the organization of
congresses, conferences and workshops, and the implementation of
researches at technical and scientific level.
The 2015 CESH Congress is organized with the support of the University of
Florence, other Italian Universities, the National Italian Olympic Committee
(CONI), associations and cultural institutions and with the patronage of the
Municipality of Florence and the Tuscany Region.
Many researchers and scholars have already joined the exciting program of
the Congress, enriched by the active and innovative participation of the
students. Students will benefit from two interesting initiatives designed for
them. Three Scholarships to be assigned for outstanding Papers given by
young scholars participating to the Congress

A “Student Seminar” about the “Research methodology in the History of
Sport” and “How to Write and Present scientific articles”.
A satellite section of the Congress will be focused on a unique topic: the
exploration of sporting activities’ traces during the time when Florence was
the Capital city of Italy, from 1865 to 1870.
