Ferdinando Chiaromonte, lì dove sorgeva
il Grand Hotel Royal des Etrangers,
oggi il Royal Continental è una struttura

‘The Lounge Bar’ e l’esclusivo ristorante
panoramico ‘al Castello’, con vista che
spazia dal Vesuvio alla collina di Posillipo,
rappresentano dei punti di incontro non
solo per la clientela dell’hotel.

in una delle 24 camere ‘museo’ con arredi
e finiture lignee progettati, espressamente
per l’hotel, da Ponti. Le pareti attrezzate
prive di piedi di appoggio, i comò a tre
cassetti con piede unico, i portariviste e
le lampade in ottone satinato, integrate
nelle testate dei letti in radica, hanno
caratterizzato la storia del design italiano.
At the Gio Ponti Floor guests can stay in one
of the 24 ‘museum’ rooms with wooden
furniture and finishing, designed specifically
for the hotel by Ponti.
Wall-mounted panels, three-drawer dressers
with a single central foot, magazine racks
and lamps in satin-finish brass, integrated
in the briar-root headboards, have marked
the history of Italian design.
