Call for seminar participants
Erasmus+ YOUTH in Action KA1
“Me & Migration –
from the perspective of workcamp organisations”
Call for seminar participants:
(18.10. – 23.10.2016 (Tuesday – Sunday))
Project:
This seminar is the final activity of the Me&Migration-project.
Content/aim:
As starter for the seminar will shortly present the outcome of the first two activities in the
Me&Migration project: a training for trainer or group leaders in June and the youth exchange
“Me&Migration – (be)come active!” in July/August in Augsburg. We also ask all partners to share the
feedback from their participants and outcome for the organisation with us.
Afterwards we want to focus on two main aspects:
1. An exchange of experience with projects and initiatives linked to the field international
projects with or for refugees. Where can we as organisation make a valuable contribution?
How can the workcamps we organise fit to it? What have been the main requests and
comments from our volunteers?
2. We want to reflect the consequences of the current political situation of migration towards
Europe for us as (youth) voluntary service organisation. Where are our limits in this “border
zone” between social work, international solidarity and intercultural learning? Do we have to
“re-define” our role and our self-image? What does this mean for the projects we organise
and for the volunteers we send or host? What does it mean for Europe as a political union
and for the so-called “European spirit”?
In both aspects we are very flexible to fix concrete topics according to the interests of the involved
organisations and participants.
Target Group:
Staff, board members or active volunteers of the partner organisations (Allianssi Finland, Cocat
Catalonia, Concordia France, Egyesek Hungary, INEX-SDA Czech Republic, Legambiente Italy, Lunaria
Italy, Xchange Scotland, YRS-VSS Serbia and IBG Germany)
Participants of the seminar should actively be involved either as decision makers or in activities of the
organisation linked anyhow to refugees/migrants.
Per partner organisation we invite 2 participants. In case you have more people interested please
let us know and we will find a way to organise it.
Dates:
October 18th to 23rd. You should arrive on Tuesday afternoon/evening and leave on Sunday morning.
Location/Accommodation:
Heidelberg. The seminar will take place in Heidelberg, a very
touristic and old university city with many sights. For sure you
will also have time to discover the city.
The seminar will take place in the “Ziegelhaus” (see picture
below), a nice self-catering seminar house with 30 beds in 7
different bed rooms. There are several seminar rooms, a
separate bar in the cellar and wifi is available as well. The

close to the borders of
the river Neckar and
only 500m to walk from
the next train station.
IBG used this house
already several times
for seminars.
