3 PERFECT DAYS
 DAY 1 // CLOISTERS, ANCIENT BOOTY AND COOL CAMPARIS
First stop is the Basilica di Santa Chiara (p44) and its colourful cloister. Continue
down Via Benedetto Croce and Via San Biagio dei Librai, taking time to explore the
densely packed palazzi and churches. Pray for a miracle at the Duomo (p49), before
turning back into Via dei Tribunali for perfect pizza (see p85). Eye up the incredible
Cappella Sansevero (p45), then make for the mighty Museo Archeologico Nazionale
(p54). Take a late-afternoon stroll down Via Toledo to Piazza Trieste e Trento (p60)
before rounding off the day in one of the many trattorias or bars in Chiaia (p88).
 DAY 2 // MARKET DELICACIES, CULTURAL MASTERPIECES AND LANGUID
SEASIDE SUPPING
Fill the picnic hamper at La Pignasecca (p57) for a perfect lunch in the Parco di Capodimonte (p71). Steps away is the fabulous art collection inside the Palazzo Reale di
Capodimonte (p71). Alternatively, give Capodimonte a miss altogether and head up to
Vomero for lunch in the grounds of Villa Floridiana (p66) and an afternoon of artistic
highs at the Certosa di San Martino (p67). Finish up at bayside Borgo Marinaro (p64)
for a lively drink or a languid seafood dinner.
 DAY 3 // VOLCANIC VIEWS AND VICTIMS
Head into the suburbs and up Mt Vesuvius (p108) for dizzying views and a face-toface with its deceptively peaceful crater. Back down the slope, walk the ghostly streets
of Pompeii (p103) before heading back to town for a nightcap on buzzing Piazza Bellini (p44).
