A NOTE FROM FR. WAYNE
Why do Catholics have devotions to the Saints?
As we celebrate Father’s
Day this weekend, let us
pause and thank our dads,
both living and deceased,
for the example they have
been to us. It truly takes a
special man to be a father.
When I think of my own dad, who has journeyed
home to the Lord, I think of the many sacrifices
he made for my family. Many times he worked
multiple jobs in order to attempt to make ends
meet. All he did was for his family and for this I
will be forever grateful to him. He has been an
example that has inspired me to always work hard
and do my best. I pray each day that if I could be
a tenth of the man my dad was; then, I’ll know
that my life was successful. Today, let us honor
our fathers and those men who have fulfilled a
fatherly role for us. Let us commend them to the
intercession of Saint Joseph.
Last Tuesday night as I was leaving the Saint Anthony
Devotions, I overheard two members of our Parish
Family asking each other: “Why do we as Catholics
have devotions to the Saints?” It gave me something
to think about!
Saints are people like us; living a life that is pleasing to
God. During their lives, they did amazing and sometimes heroic things in the course of their individual
Catholic lives. They have exceeded worldly expectations and serve as an example to us as how we are to
act in order that we also may please God through the
actions and words of our own lives. They kept themselves pure and devoted to the Lord.
We do not worship Saints or hold them higher than
God, but rather we pray to the Saints, we know are in
heaven and ask that they pray to God, on our behalf.
We know that the Saints have a special relationship
with God and He will listen closely when the Saints
bring our intentions to Him.

this year’s devotions in
honor of Saint Anthony so
beautiful. In particular, I
want to thank those who
made donations; all who
helped set up, serve, and
prepare our annual Saint Anthony Spaghetti
Supper; and the parishioners who donated
the Saint Anthony bracelets and Bread. The
parish family is grateful for all you have
done. Saint Anthony, pray for us!
Saints are only “windows” to God. We look
“through” them to see our loving Father. We know
that by following their example we can see the way to
holiness. The Saints have patterned their lives after
Jesus. NOT to exceed Him BUT ONLY to glorify
Him!

HOLY FAMILY RELIGIOUS EDUCATION CENTER
REGISTRATION FOR 20122012-2013 YEAR
You will notice that at the side table of the Church,
there are registration forms for the upcoming Religious Education Year. We encourage all parents/
guardians, who have children from the first grade to
the tenth grade, to enroll them now in the Religious
Education Program. Those who take advantage of
the early registration receive a discount on their tuition. Even students that plan on attending a Catholic
School in the Fall need to register. Thank You for
your attention and cooperation.

Have you been thinking of being an Altar Server?
The primary roll of the altar server is to assist the priest in the celebration of the liturgy during Mass. Servers carry the Cross, hold the book for the priest, carry the incense and thurible, present the bread, wine and
water to the priest during the preparation of the gifts, wash the hands of the priest, ring the bells at the consecration and give general assistance to the priest. All these little tasks help our parish give glory to God in
our celebration of the Mass. Would you like to join us in this special ministry?
If you are currently in grade three of older, and have made your First Eucharist you are eligible to be trained
to serve.

Così dice il Signore Dio: «Un ramoscello io prenderò dalla cima del cedro, dalle punte dei suoi rami

Dalla seconda lettera di san Paolo apostolo ai Corinzi
Fratelli, sempre pieni di fiducia e sapendo che
siamo in esilio lontano dal Signore finché abitiamo
nel corpo - camminiamo infatti nella fede e non
nella visione - siamo pieni di fiducia e preferiamo
andare in esilio dal corpo e abitare presso il Signore.
Perciò, sia abitando nel corpo sia andando in
esilio, ci sforziamo di essere a lui graditi. Tutti infatti dobbiamo comparire davanti al tribunale di
Cristo, per ricevere ciascuno la ricompensa delle
opere compiute quando era nel corpo, sia in bene
che in male.
GLORIA
Gloria a Dio nell'alto dei cieli e pace in terra agli
uomini di buona volontà. Noi ti lodiamo, ti
benediciamo, ti adoriamo, ti glorifichiamo, ti
rendiamo grazie per la tua gloria immensa, Signore

dei profeti. Credo la Chiesa, una, santa, cattolica e
apostolica. Professo un solo battesimo per il
perdono dei peccati. Aspetto la risurrezione dei
morti e la vita del mondo che verrà. Amen.

cresce e diventa più grande di tutte le piante
dell’orto e fa rami così grandi che gli uccelli del
cielo possono fare il nido alla sua ombra».
Con molte parabole dello stesso genere annunciava loro la Parola, come potevano intendere.
Senza parabole non parlava loro ma, in privato, ai
suoi discepoli spiegava ogni cosa.

Fu crocifisso per noi sotto Ponzio Pilato, morì e fu
sepolto. Il terzo giorno é risuscitato, secondo le
Scritture; é salito al cielo, siede alla destra del Padre.
E di nuovo verrà, nella gloria, per giudicare i vivi e i
morti, e il suo regno non avrà fine.

e procede dal Padre e dal Figlio e con il Padre e il
