is à part le temps maussade qui a régné exceptionnellement sur Parme ce
week-end, le 19ème Trofeo Internazionale Andrea Margutti a revêtu une importance particulière pour sa dernière édition sur le kartodromo di Parma.
Comme pour la Winter Cup, il y a trois semaines, on assiste à un passage de
relais entre les pilotes qui ont croisé Julie et les nouveaux venus qui portent maintenant ses couleurs, trop jeunes pour l’avoir connue.
Le trophée Margutti a été créé il y a 20 ans pour rendre hommage et garder la mémoire du
jeune Andrea, pilote de karting qui a roulé avec Giancarlo Fisichella, Jarno Trulli, Danilo Rossi,
entre autres. Ce trophée est indissociable du circuit de Parme qui lui a permis de devenir rapidement une épreuve de renommée internationale, un incontournable du début de saison. De
véritables stars du sport auto ont inscrit leur nom au palmarès de cette course unique en son
genre : Fisichella et Trulli, bien sûr, mais aussi Robert Kubica, Vitantonio Liuzzi, sans compter
tous ceux qui ont participé à l’événement sans décrocher de victoire.
Aujourd’hui, une page se tourne avec la fermeture définitive de la piste à la fin de l’année.
L’émotion était palpable au moment de la présentation des pilotes à l’évocation de l’histoire du
trophée. Pourtant, il n’est pas question que le Margutti disparaisse. Mme Patrizia Margutti, la
maman d’Andréa, a annoncé officiellement l’organisation du 20ème Trofeo Margutti l’an prochain en Espagne sur une toute nouvelle piste de karting à Valencia. La force de caractère et
le dynamisme de la famille Margutti force le respect au moment de forger un nouvel avenir au
trophée d’Andréa.
Dans ce genre de courses internationales, les couleurs de Julie sont portées par des pilotes
de toutes nationalités : Italie, Suisse, Espagne, Grande Bretagne, Portugal, Finlande, Norvège,
Danemark, République Tchèque, ... Les aînés comme Armand Convers, Florian Alfano, Davide
Forè, Manuel Renaudie, Roberto Muriglio qui a roulé avec Julie, passent le flambeau à toute
la jeune génération.
En KF3, découvrant tout juste les courses en Italie, le jeune prodige finlandais Aaro Vainio a
confirmé sa prestation victorieuse de la Winter Cup en manquant d’un cheveu la victoire finale
au Margutti. Dans le même team Maranello, Henri Rajala, pilote nordique également et à peine
plus expérimenté, termine 7ème de sa semi-finale et 16ème au général en venant de la dernière position des chronos : un exploit ! Fidèle de Julie Tonelli, Michelle Gatting a fait un festival
à Parme : 2ème chrono sous la pluie, 2ème en semi-finale, Michelle prend une belle 4ème
place en finale. Max Goff étrennait son nouveau châssis Topkart, après avoir quitté récemment
Maranello. 12ème chrono, bien placé dans les manches, Max rate sa qualification en finale à
cause d’un abandon en semi-finale. Dans le même team, Francisco Abreu, du Portugal, débute
en compétition internationale et parvient à se qualifier en finale. Enfin, autre Portugais, David Da Luz repart avec une bonne 12ème position
finale qui témoigne de sa progression rapide.
Pilote courant essentiellement en Italie, Roberto Muriglio a eu la chance de connaître Julie sur la piste de Parme. Pas étonnant qu’il ne cesse
depuis lors de porter bien haut les papillons roses de Julie. En KF2, il a bien redressé la situation après un chrono moyen et s’octroie la 15ème
position en finale. Le clan PCR a connu des fortunes diverses. Jorge Pescador abandonne en semi-finale. Bien parti, Marco Moretti ne parvient pas non plus à se qualifier pour la finale. Seul Alex Fontana, 9ème chrono, pourra se battre aux avant-postes, avant que sa mécanique
faiblisse quelque peu. Il se battra tout de même jusqu’au bout pour décrocher finalement la 14ème place.

espite the exceptionally gloomy weather over Parma, last weekend, the 19th
edition of Trofeo Internazionale Andrea Margutti assumed a special importance, due to the fact that it was the last edition in Parma kartdrome. As during the
Winter Cup, three weeks ago, there was a changeover between the pilots who
had competed with Julie and the newcomers who now hold high her banner, but are too
young to know her.
The Margutti Trophy was created about 20 years ago to pay homage to and keep alive the
memory of young Andrea, a karting pilot who had competed with Giancarlo Fisichella, Jarno
Trulli, and Danilo Rossi, among others. This trophy is inextricably linked to Parma kartdrome, a
circuit that quickly enabled it to become an international sporting event, a must at season debut.
Real motor racing stars were among the protagonists of this unique race: Fisichella and Trulli, of
course, but also Robert Kubica, Vitantonio Liuzzi, not to mention all those who took part in the
event without winning.
At the end of the year, the closing down of this circuit will mark the end of an era, but also the beginning of a new one. The emotion was palpable when pilots were introduced, while the history
of the Trophy was being recalled. However, the Margutti Trophy will not disappear. Mrs. Patrizia
Margutti, Andrea’s mother, officially announced that next year the 20th Trofeo Margutti will be
organised in Valencia (Spain), in a brand new karting circuit in the Spanish city. The Margutti
family deserves our utmost respect for the character and dynamism it has shown in shaping a
new future for Andrea’s trophy.
In this kind of international races, Julie’s banner is now held high by pilots coming from all over
the world: Italy, Switzerland, Spain, Great Britain, Portugal, Finland, Norway, Denmark, Czech
Republic, etc. Race veterans like Armand Convers, Florian Alfano, Davide Forè, Manuel Renaudie, Roberto Muriglio who competed with Julie, will pass on the baton to a new generation
of pilots.
In KF3, young Finnish prodigy Aaro Vainio, a newcomer in Italian races, repeated his winning
performance at the Winter Cup and came very close to the final victory at Margutti Trophy. In the
same team Maranello, Henri Rajala, a slightly more experience Nordic pilot, was 7th in his semifinal and 16th overall, moving up from the last position after the official time qualifying: a brilliant
performance! A follower of Julie Tonelli’s, Michelle Gatting, triumphed in Parma: 2nd in the rain,
2nd in the semi-final, Michelle obtained an excellent 4th place in the final. Max Goff competed
for the first time on his new Topkart chassis, after recently abandoning the Maranello. 12th after
the qualifyings, well placed during the heats, Max didn’t qualify due to a withdrawal during a
semi-final. In the same team, Francisco Abreu, a Portuguese pilot, made his debut at an international competition and succeeded in qualifying for the final. Finally, another Portuguese pilot,
David Da Luz started with a good 12th final position that testifies his fast progress.
Roberto Muriglio, a pilot who competes almost exclusively in Italy, had the chance to meet Julie on the Parma circuit. It is not surprising that
since then he has been holding high the banner of Julie’s pink butterflies. In KF2, he completely reversed the bad situation he was in after the
official time qualifyings and conquered the 15th position in the final. PCR clan had rather poor luck. Jorge Pescador gave up during the semifinal. Despite a good start, Marco Moretti didn’t qualify for the final. Alex Fontana, 9th after the official time qualifyings, was the only one who
could compete with the best pilots, at least until his kart had mechanical troubles. Anyway, he fought to the very end and conquered the 14th
place.

algrado il tempo uggioso che ha eccezionalmente caratterizzato Parma lo scorso week-end, l’ultima edizione del 19° Trofeo Internazionale Andrea Margutti
nel kartdromo di Parma ha assunto un’importanza particolare. Come accaduto
tre settimane fa durante la Winter Cup, abbiamo assistito a un passaggio del
testimone tra i piloti che hanno gareggiato con Julie e i nuovi arrivati che ora indossano
i suoi colori, troppo giovani per averla conosciuta.
Il Trofeo Margutti è nato 20 anni fa per rendere omaggio e in memoria del giovane Andrea, pilota
di karting che gareggiò tra gli altri con Giancarlo Fisichella, Jarno Trulli e Danilo Rossi. Non si
può parlare di questo trofeo senza collegarlo al kartdromo di Parma, circuito che ha permesso
a questo evento di diventare in breve tempo una kermesse di livello internazionale, un «must»
di inizio stagione. Unica nel suo genere, molti sono i personaggi di spicco che hanno iscritto il
proprio nome nel palmarès di questa gara: Fisichella e Trulli, ma anche Robert Kubica, Vitantonio
Liuzzi, senza contare tutti coloro che hanno partecipato non riportando alcuna vittoria.
Con l’annuncio della chiusura definitiva dell’impianto a fine anno termina un’era, ma ne inizia una
nuova. Durante la presentazione dei piloti ricordando la storia del trofeo l’emozione era palpabile.
Ciononostante il Margutti continuerà a esistere. La signora Patrizia Margutti, madre di Andrea, ha
ufficialmente annunciato che il 20° Trofeo Margutti (2009) si svolgerà in Spagna, a Valencia, su
una nuovissima pista di karting. La famiglia Margutti merita tutto il nostro rispetto per il carattere
e il dinamismo che mostrato nel dare nuova forma al futuro del trofeo dedicato ad Andrea.
In questo tipo di gare internazionali, i colori di Julie sono indossati da piloti di tutte le nazionalità:
Italia, Svizzera, Spagna, Gran Bretagna, Portogallo, Finlandia, Norvegia, Danimarca, Repubblica Ceca, ... I piloti più esperti, come Armand Convers, Florian Alfano, Davide Forè, Manuel
Renaudie, Roberto Muriglio che ha gareggiato con Julie, passano il testimone a tutta la nuova
generazione.
In KF3 il giovane prodigio finlandese Aaro Vainio, da poco presente alle gare italiane, ha confermato la sua eccellente prestazione durante la Winter Cup mancando di un soffio la vittoria finale
al Margutti. Henri Rajala, anche lui pilota nordico della Maranello e leggermente più esperto,
termina al settimo posto della sua semifinale e sedicesimo nel piazzamento generale nonostante
l’ultimo posto nelle prove ufficiali di qualificazione: un exploit! Fedele a Julie Tonelli, Michelle
Gatting trionfa a Parma: seconda nelle prove ufficiali di qualificazione sotto la pioggia, seconda
in semifinale, nella finale Michelle ha ottenuto un ottimo quarto posto. Battesimo del nuovo telaio
Topkart per Max Goff, dopo il recente distacco dalla Maranello. Dodicesimo dopo le prove ufficiali
di qualificazione, piazzatosi bene nelle manche, Max ha mancato la qualificazione in finale a
causa di un ritiro in semifinale. Francisco Abreu, pilota portoghese sempre della Topkart, debutta
nella competizione internazionale e riesce a qualificarsi per la finale. Infine David Da Luz, altro
pilota portoghese, riparte con un’ottimo dodicesimo posto in finale che testimonia i suoi rapidi progressi.
Roberto Muriglio, pilota che gareggia essenzialmente in Italia, ha avuto la fortuna di conoscere Julie sulla pista di Parma e non deve sorprendere
che da allora difenda egregiamente le farfalle rosa di Julie. In KF2, ha risollevato la situazione dopo una prova ufficiale di qualificazione mediocre piazzandosi quindicesimo in finale. Alterne sfortune per il clan PCR. Jorge Pescador abbandona in semifinale. Marco Moretti, nonostante
una buona partenza, non è riuscito a qualificarsi per la finale. Solo Alex Fontana, nono dopo le prove ufficiali di qualificazione, riesce a battersi
con i primi fino a quando il suo mezzo registra un leggero cedimento meccanico. Riesce a terminare la gara conquistando un quattordicesimo
posto.
