BaBar main scientific results: Observation of CP violation in B meson system, observation of many rare B decays, discovery of unpredicted new particles, evidence for
mixing in D meson system, discovery of the bottomonium ground state, observation
of time reversal violation in the B 0 system.
BaBar has been nominated by name in the 2008 Nobel press-release
(http://nobelprize.org/nobel_prizes/physics/laureates/2008/press.html).
Highlights
Observation of CP violation in B 0 → η 0 K 0 decays.
Primary editor and correspondent author of the observation of CP violation in B 0 →
η 0 K 0 decays (Phys. Rev. Lett. 98, 031801 (2007)). This is the first observation of
CP violation in rare B decays dominated by loop diagrams.
