Evelina Christillin graduated in History and taught Modern History at the Faculty of Education and Training
Sciences of the University of Turin, where she also taught Sports History; in collaboration with the University
of Turin, Ms. Christillin contributed to organising major institutional events.
Ms. Christillin published several books and essays for the “Einaudi” and “Il Mulino” publishing houses, as well
as articles and reviews for journals including "L'Indice", "Prometeo" and "Bollettino Storico Bibliografico

Subalpino" about Piedmont’s economic, social and demographic history of the XVII and XVIII centuries. In 1994
she was awarded the "Acqui Storia" prize for her book “Poveri Malati”.
Prior to her academic experience, Ms. Christillin worked at Fiat press office from 1978 to 1985, where she was
in charge of coverage for sports events (car races and rallies) and foreign press. In 1996-1997 she was part of
the Scientific Committee for the hundred-year anniversary of Juventus Football Club, curating the dedicated
exhibition and accompanying catalogue. Since June 2007 she has been working in Juventus ‘Culture Group’.
Ms. Christillin’s sports resumé includes participation in the Italian National Alpine Ski Women’s Team (slalom
and giant slalom).
In 1998-99 she was the Executive President of the 2006 Winter Olympics Bid Committee and successfully led
Turin’s bid to host the Games thus bringing the world’s most important showcase sports event back to Italy
after 46 years, and for the third time in history after the Cortina d’Ampezzo Winter Olympics in 1956 and
Rome Summer Olympics in 1960.
From 18 April 2001 to 18 May 2005 Ms. Christillin was a member of the National Board of CONI, the Italian
National Olympic Committee, the first woman in Italy to serve as an elected sports executive in charge of the
2006 Olympic Games.
Ms. Christillin was also a member of the Executive Board of the Organising Committee for the 2006 Chess
Olympics in Turin.
From 5 February 2000 to 30 March 2007 Ms. Christillin was the Acting Vice President of the Torino Organising
Committee (TOROC) for the 2006 20th Winter Olympic Games in Turin, where she was in charge of the
organisation of the Cultural Olympics.
From 19 July 2006 to 19 July 2010 she was a member of the Board of Directors of the “Teatro Regio di Torino”
(Turin Royal Theater), as a representative of the Italian Minister for Cultural Heritage and Activities.
On 2 September 2007 Ms. Christillin took part, upon personal invitation from UN Secretary General Ban KiMoon, as a Guest Speaker at the Annual Retreat (with a speech entitled "Building a winning team"); the
invitation was renewed for the meeting of 23 March 2011 in Turin. Since 2011 she has been participating in
meetings at the Aspen Institute on a regular basis.
Ms. Christillin was a member of the Board of Directors at Saes Getters, a multinational electronics company
based in Milan from 2003 to 2010.
In November 2010 she was chosen as an advisor to the Brazilian Chambers of Commerce for the organisation
of the 2014 Football World Cup.
Currently, she is President of the Turin-based PR.A.TO. Association for the Prevention of Anorexia; President of
the Philharmonic Orchestra (“Filarmonica '900”) of the “Teatro Regio di Torino”; Honorary President of the
association "Le Terre dei Savoia" (a non-profit association of towns and local authorities promoting
and enhancing the culture, traditions and tourism of the South-West of Piedmont); since 21 May 2007 (reelected on 25 July 2011 to a second term of office) she has been the Executive President, vested with all
operating powers, of the ‘Teatro Stabile di Torino’ Foundation. Since 2 September 2008 she has been a
member of the Technical Committee of the Special Project “Expo 2015” of the Italian Industrialists’ Federation
(Confindustria), coordinating the “Women & Expo” working group since September 2012. Ms. Christillin has
been a member of Confindustria’s Culture Commission since 8 October 2012; from 7 April 2009 to 31
December 2012 she was the President of the Piedmont and Aosta Valley Interregional section of the Italian
Performing Arts Association, Agis. Since October 2010 (re-elected on 18 October 2012 to a second term of
office) she has been the President of ANESV-AGIS (Trade Association of Travelling Shows and Amusement
Parks); since December 2010 she has been a member of AGIS National Committee; from 12 January 2011 to
31 December 2012 she chaired the Board of the ‘Fondazione del Finale’ for the safeguard and enhancement
of the artistic and archaeological heritage of the Finale Ligure district. Since 31 January 2012 she has been a
member of the Board of Directors of the "Foro Italico" Roma4 University. Since 19 November 2012 she has
chaired the Foundation of the Egyptian Museum of Turin. Since 4 March 2013 Ms. Christillin has been a
member of the Board of Directors of Genoa-based Banca Carige Italia.
