Falso allarme squalo nel golfo di Buccari
TRIESTE - Falso allarme in Istria per una turista ferita pare da un pescespada. Il più classico dei
passaparola indicava l'attacco di uno squalo a una donna, nelle acque della baia di Buccari , a
sud est di Fiume, nel golfo del Quarnaro, peraltro già interessato da episodi del genere, come
ricorda il quotidiano il Piccolo: «Un pescecane ha attaccato una bagnante, mordendola ad un
piede!» era la voce allarmante. Tanta apprensione, ma in verità le cose stanno diversamente, ma
tanto è bastato perchè la gente per ore non entrasse piùin acqua.
Il ferimento in effetti c'è stato ed è avvenuto in mare a poche decine di metri da Buccarizza: un
pesce di piccole dimensioni, probabilmente un pesce spada a caccia di sgombri, ha ferito una
donna uscita poi sanfuinante dall'acqua. In base a quanto raccontato dai testimoni, la 60enne
stava nuotando quando all'improvviso è stata colpita ad una gamba. Subito ha chiesto aiuto ed è
stata trascinata a riva uscendo poi sanguinante. Da lì gli attacchi di panico.
I racconti dei testimoni. «Si vedeva che aveva una ferita come se qualcosa l'avesse colpita di
–
striscio – ha dichiarato uno dei bagnanti che ha assistito alla scena
sanguinava poco, ma era
visibilmente sotto choc». A detta degli esperti, la bagnante non è stata morsa da uno squalo: lì le
acque del golfo brulicano di pesce azzurro e "spada" per la cosiddetta “mangianza”. Nessuno dei
presenti ha però visto il pesce che ha ferito la donna. Ma per ore nessuno a Buccarizza ha avuto il
coraggio di tornare in acqua, nel timore di un secondo incontro ravvicinato.
I precedenti. La baia di Buccari è stata teatro di attacchi, anche mortali, di squali, ma molti anni fa.
ln questo braccio di mare, infatti, un tempo arrivavano enormi banchi di tonni, seguiti dai
pescicani. L’ultimo attacco di squalo registrato in Croazia è avvenuto nell’ ottobre 2008, poco al
largo dell’isola dalmata di Lissa (Vis), un subacqueo sloveno di 43 anni fu morso ad un piede.

The witness accounts. "You could see he had a wound as if something had hit streak - said one of
the swimmers who attended the scene - was bleeding a little, but was visibly in shock." According
to experts, the swimmer has not been bitten by a shark: there the waters of the Gulf teem with
bluefish and "sword" for the so-called "mangianza". None of these has however seen the fish that
wounded the woman. But for hours no one Buccarizza had the courage to return to the water,
fearing a second close encounter.
The previous. Buccari Bay was the scene of attacks, even fatal, shark, but many years ago. ln this
arm of the sea, in fact, a time came enormous schools of tuna, followed by sharks. The last
