exposed
the
Arch.
Johanna
Grawunder’s
creations with some
masterpieces of design
objects signed by Alvar
Aalto, Marcel Breuer
and Gerrit Rietveld.
This confirm the Arch.
Johanna
Gawunder’s
talen and creativity.

meccanica impeccabile”.
La galleria Pron ha
esposto questi oggetti di
design assieme ai grandi
classici del design ideati
da Alvar Aalto, Marcel

for these white-ash
exposures makes use
of the shapes of the
old frames that formed
the
first
machines
contributing to the
design of the priceless
cloths displayed to the
general public at the
Gugghenheim Museum
in Venice for the Annie
Albert Exhibit.

Questa casa disegnata
da Ettore Sottsass
esprime la fantasia ed il
genio di questo grande
architetto
che
ha
l’abitudine di realizzare
le sue opere nobilitando
materiali poveri che
vengono sapientemente
mescolati con altri di più
ricca qualità.
Gli arredi di questa casa
sono stati realizzatti in
legni come lo zebrano,
uniti al laminato plastico,
alle laccature alla foglia
d’ oro.
Una vera e propria
globalizzazione
materica sempre però
tenuta sotto controllo
dalla maestria di questo
grande
architetto
contemporaneo.
This house, a design
by Ettore Sottsass,
exemplifies the fantasy
and genius of this major
architect who usually
realizes his works by
ennobling more generic
materials that are
cleverly combined with
those of higher quality.
The furnishings of this
house are conceived in
woods such as African
zebrawood combined
with laminated plastic
and gold-leaf lacquer.
There
is
a
real
international feel to
the materials, yet the
mastery of this great
modern architect always
keeps them in check.

This house has the
fortune of being situated
in the heart of one of
American’s most verdant
regions. Located near
Santa Fe is Telluride,
a small town close to
the Rocky Mountains
that is skirted by
green spruce and birch
forests. The central
structure of this piece of
architecture, realized by
Ettore Sottsass for this
fortunate customer, is
constructed with a large
sloping glass roof that
floods the entire twofloor main hall with light.
All panelling is in honeycoloured sandstone, to
optimally recall the raw
beauty of the surrounding
environment.

La fortuna di questa
casa è quella di essere
nel cuore di una
delle regioni più verdi
d’America. Vicino a
Santa Fè c’è Telluride
un paesino ai margini
delle montagne rocciose
lambito da verdi boschi
di abeti e betulle.
Il corpo centrale di
questa
architettura
che Ettore Sottsass ha
realizzato per questo
fortunato committente
è costruita con un
grande tetto a spiovente
in vetro che inonda
di luce tutto il salone
principale
realizzato
su due piani. Tutti
i rivestimenti sono
in
pietra
arenaria
color
miele
per
meglio ricordare l’aspra
bellezza dell’ambiente
circostante.

Essenza dominante per
questo arredamento è
l’acero; con la finitura a
cera, che conferisce un
effetto naturale al legno,
si è voluto sottolineare
il carattere rigoroso
e composto di tutto il
progetto che si integra
perfettamente con i
prodotti in vendita.
Per le parti metalliche
è stato usato ferro
micaceo.
Nel 1993 la rivista
tedesca
Architektur
Jahrbuch ha nominato I
PURI “negozio dell’anno”.

The underlying essence
to these furnishings
is maple. The waxed
finishing, which gives
a natural effect to the
wood, underlines the
restrained and composed
character of the entire
project, which is perfectly
integrated with the
products on sale.
Micacious iron has been
used for the metallic
parts.
I PURI were given the
“Best Shop of the
Year” Award in 1993
by the German journal
Architektur Jahrbuch .

Gli uffici direzionali
di Milano sono stati
realizzati con una scelta
di materiali semplici
ma al tempo stesso
raffinati.
Gli uffici sono separati da
grandi pareti in laminato
plastico, riquadrate da
masselli in frassino. Muri
di legno definiscono gli
spazi interni dei singoli
uffici che sono arredati
con mobili laccati a tinte
forti e impiallacciati con
radiche precomposte.

The Milan management
offices are realized by
a choose of simple but
stylish materials. The
offices are separated
by
large
partitions
in laminated plastic,
frameds by large blocks of
ash. Wooden walls delimit
the integral space of each
office, which are fitted
with furnishing in strong
hues and veneered with
precomposed briarwood.

Nell’arco di quattro anni
sono stati realizzati gli arredi
per 10.000 mq di negozi
e 5.000 di showrooms, in
tutta Europa. Ogni spazio
espositivo è stato realizzato
in maniera differente pur
mantenendo una riconoscibile
identità generale. Il progetto
si diversifica notevolmente
per soluzioni, varietà di
forme e materiali in una
continua sperimentazione
del nuovo: tutte le
impiallacciature precomposte,
per esempio, sono state
realizzate appositamente. La
nostra azienda ha sviluppato
e ingegnerizzato gli arredi
partendo da uno studio di
fattibilità, trasformando i
tratti generali in progetti
esecutivi. Durante le fasi
di lavorazione sono stati
allestiti stand campione che
hanno permesso di valutare
l’equilibrio tecnico ed estetico
di questi progetti che hanno
segnato uno dei periodi più
liberi nell’ideazione degli
spazi di vendita.
Over only four years, we have
provided and executed the
furnishings for over 10,000
square meters of shops and
5,000 square meters of
showrooms Europe wide.
Each of these areas has
been individually conceived
and the projectural side,
albeit
maintaining
an
overall recognizable identity,
has also concentrated on
providing diversified solutions, a
variety of forms and materials
in a continuous and novel
experimentation.
All
the
precomposed
veneerings, for example, have
been specially produced.
We have developed and
engineered the furnishings
basing
themselves
on
concept studies, transforming
the general features into
executive projects. These
projects have defined one of
the most imaginative periods
in the realization of shops and
showrooms.
