Colli), University of Milan, 1.28.2002 • Diploma of the Scuola Avanzata di Formazione Integrata - Istituto Universitario di Studi Superiori, University of Pavia, 2001 • Laurea in Matematica (advisor G.Gilardi), University of Pavia, 7.9.1997 Research Interests Analytical investigation of initial and boundary value problems for PDE, arising from engineering applications in thermomechanics and materials science (mainly using phase transitions approach): 1 • • • • • • • • • shape memory alloys polymers binary phase transitions phase separations and coarsening hydrogen storage damage and fatigue (of elastic and (thermo)viscoelastic materials) contact with adhesion and friction collisions and fractures plasticity The research focus on: • derivation and investigation of thermodinamically consistent models • proof of existence, uniqueness, continuous dependence on data, regularity for the corresponding solutions • long-time behaviour of the solutions (existence of the ω-limit) • asymptotic analysis for some physical parameter tending to zero The above problems present both theoretical and applied aspects. They have been developed also through several international collaborations with scientists and research centers. We recall in particular the following collaborations: • collaboration with Michel Frémond (in the Laboratoire Lagrange, in relation with Ecole Polytechnique de Paris, Laboratoire Central des Ponts et Chaussées de Paris, Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées de Paris, Dipartimento di Ingegneria Civile dell’Universitá di Roma Tor Vergata, Ecole Normale de Cachan, Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Techniques Avancées - ENSTA di Parigi) • collaboration with Laboratoire de Mecanique Civil de Montpellier, Laboratoire de Mecanique Appliquée de Besancon, Laboratoire LMA de Marseille, Université de Poitiers, WIAS in Berlin • collaboration with italian universities: Universitá di Brescia, Politecnico di Milano, Universitá di Milano, Universitá Tor Vergata di Roma, Universitá di Parma • collaboration with Basic Chemicals and Plastics Research Center - Versalis (ENI, Italy) Publications 49 accepted or published papers in international journals; 5 papers published in international books or special volume of international journals, 2 papers in proceedings of international congress, 4 preprints. Talks in Workshops and Institutions 2 39 communications in Workshops and Conferences; 10 invited talk at universities or institutions (IMATI-CNR Pavia, Laboratoire Jacques-Louis Lions Universite Paris VI, University of Bologna, Universite d’Amiens, Ecole Normale Superiore de Cachan, Universite’ de Montpellier, Universite’ de Poitiers, WIAS Berlin) Other experiences: Visitor of the LCPC in Paris April-June 2001, September 2002-February 2003, February 2004, November-December 2004, December 2005 for a scientific collaboration with Prof. Michel Fremond.
