The excellent favour and success of "The City Without Sun" by Massimo Ruberti from
Livorno (Italy) give us the perfect sense of his ability to create great soundtracks concerning
the human soul, far from clear consciousness, catatonic enough ..lost in fact a sweet inertia
with a total absence of movement initiative. Sounds and rhythms that color the essence.
Today Ruberti scours to basically anything that takes the human being to follow the stars in
perpetual search and desire to have more awareness of what we really are, and it does so
in its own way, taking the astronaut Neil Armstrong as a historical figure and example of
the first who was able to set foot on the Moon to begin to reveal something more about
us..to make real those things that were science fiction or better predictions of writers
(almost prophets and surrealists) as J.G. Ballard to name one. The album Armstrong is a
smart and well-kept collection of six soundtracks that tells the steps of the journey of
Apollo 11..each track is a preliminary step and / or the previous one and will reveal
absolutely inseparable just like a real and its concept album. Certainty is that we are faced
with another spectacular and extremely successful album that gives us hope that we can
once again have artists of this excellent skill in Nostress.

Gli ottimi consensi e il successo ottenuto con “The City Without Sun” fanno chiarezza sulle
capacità dell'artista livornese Massimo Ruberti di saper creare perfette colonne sonore che
sanno scrutare l'animo umano assorto nel suo io, lontano da lucida consapevolezza,
catatonici quanto basta..persi infatti in una dolce inerzia in prevalente assenza di iniziativa
motoria. Suoni e ritmi che ne colorano l'essenza. Oggi Ruberti scandaglia a fondo tutto ciò
che porta l'essere umano a scrutare gli astri nella perenne ricerca e desiderio di avere
maggiori consapevolezze su ciò che realmente siamo, e lo fa a suo modo, prendendo
l'astronauta Neil Armstrong quale personaggio storico ed esempio di chi per primo ha
potuto mettere piede sulla Luna per cominciare a svelare qualcosa in più di noi..per
rendere reali quelle cose che prima erano fantascienza o meglio predizioni di scrittori
(quasi profeti e surrealisti) come J.G. Ballard per citarne uno. L'album Armstrong è senza
alcun dubbio una raccolta intelligente e curatissima di sei colonne sonore che raccontano
gli step del viaggio dell'Apollo 11..ogni brano è propedeutico al successivo e/o al
precedente e si rivelano assolutamente inseparabili proprio come un vero e proprio
"concept album". Certezza è che siamo di fronte ad un altro album spettacolare ed
estremamente riuscito che ci fa ben sperare di poter avere ancora una volta artisti di
questo calibro nella scuderia Nostress.
"Sogni atavici umani di viaggi cosmici portano a comprendere con maggiore precisione quanto egli
riesca a musicare quel senso.
Dopo aver raccontato di città senza sole, quando lo smog si dirada, di notte, lo sguardo torna a
cercare angoli di cieli notturni; a cercare stelle ed astri dove la mente possa proiettarsi, dove possa
ancora trascendere.
Come non pensare, guardando di nuovo la Luna, e avendo in mente viaggi siderali, alla controversa
impresa dell'Apollo 11, a Neil Armstrong e compagni, al loro lungo viaggio verso il satellite e
ritorno, e soprattutto al loro viaggio interiore, alla conquista del loro 'inner space' di ballardiana
memoria?
'Armstrong' è questo, un viaggio in sei atti, sei colonne sonore per perdersi, musica per viaggiatori
statici."
