Biografia
Nata e residente a Murano, Margherita Barbini è diplomata e
specializzata in decorazione pittorica all’Istituto Statale d’Arte di
Venezia. Inizia la sua carriera collaborando nell’azienda familiare
che produce specchi veneziani.
Dal 1978 è docente della sezione
Arte del Vetro dell’I.S.A. Da alcuni anni disegna e realizza opere in
vetro, nate dal desiderio di pale-

sare le sue idee, i suoi sentimenti,
le sue annotazioni e le sue pause di riflessione. Segue personalmente l’attuazione delle sue
opere, le quali vengono espresse attraverso molteplici tecniche
veneziane, in collaborazione con
qualificati maestri muranesi.
By observing the works of Margherita Barbini we can recognize
the innumerable technical and
professional experiences which
characterize the path of this artist and in each detail of her works we can make out the love that
she harbours for the centuriesold Murano glass tradition.
Through soft chromatic choises,
where different shades of a single
colour prevail, and the trasformation of glass in sinuous lines, we
can admire all that is ephemeral and the perfection of nature.

observer and she invites him to
get the joyful moments of the existence in the incomparable trasparency of her works.
Biography
Born and raised on the island
of Murano, Margherita Barbini
graduated at the Istituto Statale
d’Arte in Venice where she specialized in decorative painting.
After graduation, she worked in
her father’s company producing
mirrors according to the Venetian tradition. Margherita Barbini
has been a professor of the Art of
Glass Department at I.S.A. since 1978. Several years ago, she
began designing and producing
works of art born from a vivid
desire to express her ideas, sentiments and creative intervals of
reflection. Her artistic glassworks are exclusively designed and
manufactured in collaboration
with the most skilful Muranesi
glass masters. Especially chosen by Margherita Barbini, these
masters adopt the many Venetian techniques perfected by local glassblowers throughout the
centuries.
