Lo studio MatitAnimatA, attivo a Roma dal 1996 , è ormai uno dei
più affermati studi di animazione italiani avendo lavorato su
innumerevoli produzioni italiane ed europee, sia televisive (Clic e
Kat, Rat Man, Felix, Hocus e Lotus, Marco e Gina, GB e W, Lupo
Alberto, ecc…) che cinematografiche
(Felix, Opopomoz, Three Wise Men, Der Kleine
Eisbar, ecc..).
La sua attenzione per il sociale e la convinzione
che il cartone animato sia uno dei mezzi di
comunicazione più efficaci, hanno spinto lo studio a contribuire
gratuitamente alla realizzazione del Cartoon per la Pace
“P.o.p – Pace of Peace”, su iniziativa del Festival
dei Castelli Animati e dell’Ufficio per la pace del
Comune di Roma.
Da gennaio 2005 ha trasferito la sua sede operativa
presso il Borgo Ragazzi Don Bosco, creando l'Accademia BdB che,
con il patrocinio di Cartoon italia, offre corsi di formazione relativi
al campo dell'animazione.
Ad aprile 2006, con un team di 18 persone, ha terminato la serie
televisiva
“Clic & Kat” (25x5’ - RAI fiction-Cineteam) utilizzando in anteprima
il software Toonz 5.0, di cui lo studio è stato Beta tester e
sviluppatore collaborando con la software house romana Digital
Video.
Grazie a questa scelta la produzione è stata realizzata interamente
in Italia e il
successo della serie ha reso Matitanimata azienda leader in italia
come service provider di animazione paperless.
Ad Ottobre 2006 ha realizzato il pilot “Nonno Sonno” inaugurando
così il reparto di animazione 3D basato sul software Maya 8.5.
Attualmente sta realizzando con la stessa tecnica dei cartoon per la
Polizia di Stato (“Berto & Piuma e la Polizia di Stato”).

Lo studio offre i suoi servizi per tutte le fasi di lavorazione di una
produzione in animazione, dall'ideazione del concept fino alla
consegna del master, ed è in grado di usare tutte le tecniche di
animazione disponibili, anche integrandole tra di loro, ottimizzando i
processi produttivi e ideando nuove soluzioni, garantendo così al
cliente la massima soddisfazione al minimo costo.
Lo studio è strutturato secondo tre impostazioni principali che si
intersecano tra di loro a seconda delle necessità:
Pipeline tradizionale: su carta secondo la tecnica classica, per
prodotti di massima qualità (spot pubblicitari, lungometraggi) ,pilot
di serie televisive, o intere serie televisive limitatamente alle fasi di
preproduzione.
Pipeline paperless: basata sull'utilizzo del software Toonz 5.0,
utilizza prevalentemente il computer tagliando radicalmente tempi e
costi di produzione, molto richiesta per serie televisive, webtoons,
spot pubblicitari.
Pipeline 3D: basata sull'utilizzo dei maggiorì software 3D (Maya,
3D studio max,Xsi) è la tecnica che va per la maggiore, molto
richiesta per tutti i
mercati, dal web alla serie televisiva al lungometraggio, il
dipartimento 3D è
anche in grado di realizzare effetti speciali di qualità
cinematografica.

La struttura
La struttura si sviluppa su circa 900 mq, parte
destinata all’attività lavorativa dello studio e parte
destinata all’attività didattica dell'Accademia Bdb
nome sotto il quale MatitAnimata gestisce corsi di
formazione legati al mondo dell'animazione.
Lo studio dispone di una sala di animazione
paperless 2D e animazione 3D con 12 postazioni,
una sala di animazione tradizionale, con 12
postazioni attrezzate per le fasi di storyboard,
layout e animazione, una sala di postproduzione
con 12 postazioni dedicate alla modellazione al
montaggio e agli effetti speciali, una sala di
“regia” con postazioni per supervisore e
segretarie di produzione, tavolo per riunioni, una
sala audio per doppiaggi e sonorizzazioni, un
ufficio amministrativo.
La scuola dispone di due aule informatiche con
13 postazioni ciascuna , destinate ai corsi di
computer grafica, web e multimedia, 3D,
animazione 2D paperless, colorazione digitale e
fonia, e un’aula di disegno
attrezzata con 12 tavoli luminosi, televisore con
videoregistratore, una postazione di line test,
destinata ai corsi di animazione tradizionale,
fumetto, illustrazione e scenografia.
