ROMA NEL TEMPO E NELLO SPAZIO: COME ERA E COM’E’

Dal 25 al 29 marzo 2014 la scuola accoglierà circa 40 studenti (ospitati presso le famiglie) e 10 docenti in visita a
Roma provenienti dalle scuole:
• King Edward VI High School For Girls, Birmingham Gran Bretagna
• Open Schoolgemeenschap Bijlmer, Amsterdam Olanda
• Liceo Generale e Tecnologico Charlie Chaplin, Lione (Francia)
Nell'Istituto si terranno workshop guidati da studenti dei vari paesi e momenti conviviali e di lavoro comune sul
tema: “Roma nel Tempo e nello Spazio: com’era e com’è”. Le classi coinvolte e gli ospiti visiteranno luoghi e
monumenti di Roma in modo interattivo e in piccoli gruppi autoguidati (Treasure art hunt).
Abstract del Progetto
Le città sono sempre state le più grandi creazioni dell’umanità: rappresentano la realizzazione finale della immaginazione
umana, e testimoniano l’abilità di dare una nuova forma all’ambiente naturale in modo duraturo. Dalle loro origini, nelle
città si sono generate la scienza, la tecnologia, l’arte, la cultura, la religione, l’economia. L’evoluzione delle città incarna
la storia dell’umanità, e la storia delle città europee rappresenta la storia dell’Europa.
Questo progetto vuole essere un’analisi della complessità della storia urbana europea, nel tempo e nello spazio e un
invito ai giovani partecipanti a esplorare i fondamenti dell’esperienza urbana e a condividere con i partner la comune
identità di cittadini europei. Attraverso la visita delle città coinvolte nel partenariato, si esploreranno temi e specifici
momenti del retaggio culturale europeo, come canale di comunicazione fra il passato, il presente e un futuro sostenibile,
fra realtà e utopia.
Il progetto ha un approccio scientifico, con un focus sulla scienza, l’astronomia e l’archeo-astronomia - come leggere il
cielo nello spazio urbano -, nel passato e nel presente delle città Europee.
Si svilupperanno temi interdisciplinari e strategie innovative di “outdoor education”, nell’obiettivo di innovare i
contenuti, i programmi, le metodologie di insegnamento e di stimolare la motivazione, la creatività e quelle competenze
degli studenti necessarie per prendere posto nella società come attivi cittadini europei.

Summary of Activities
25 March Tuesday – Visitors arrive. Welcome and opening Ceremony. Visiting pupils collected by host families.
26 March Wednesday - TOPIC “The Ancient Rome”
Morning: Workshop at school “Putting Rome on the map”
Late morning: Visit Colosseum guided by students in multinational groups;
Afternoon: ORISTORIA: orienteering game –tour in Roman Forum
Late afternoon: Visit Musei Capitolini
Evening: Visiting pupils spend evening with host families.
27 March Thursday – TOPIC “Ghetto, The Vatican city and surrounding”
Early Morning at school: Workshop
Morning: visit the Jewish District (Ghetto)
Afternoon: St Peter’s square and Castel Sant’Angelo
Late afternoon: Game&Star pizza party at school
28 March - TOPIC “The Baroque Rome”
Early Morning at school: Preparation for the visit
Morning and afternoon: “walking through Rome” game-tour in multinational groups (Visit Campo dei
Fiori, Piazza Navona, Fontana di Trevi, … Piazza di Spagna, Piazza del popolo ).
Evening: Visiting pupils spend evening with Host families.

10:15 French group arrives at Fiumicino Airport. A reserved bus will transport the group from airport to
school.
12.00 – French Visitors arrive at school. Lunch in Trattoria near school
14.10 - French Visitors go home with their host pupils
13.55 English group arrives at Fiumicino Airport. To school by reserved bus
14.55 Dutch group arrives at Fiumicino. To school by reserved bus
15.30 English Visitors arrive at school
16.00 -16.30 Dutch Visitors arrive at school.
15.30-16.00 Host pupils (+ French Visitors) return at school
Welcome. Refreshments available. Matching visiting and hosting pupils.
16.30-18.00 - French, English and Dutch school presentations (Aula Magna). Flash mob
18.00 Pupils go home with host pupils/ families
Once visiting pupils have departed, visiting staff go to their hotel (15 min. walk)
Wednesday 26th March TOPIC “ Ancient Rome”

8.30 - 9,45 – Astronomy lab - WS guided by Italian pupils “Rome on the maps”: introduction to the visit of
ancient Rome, Colosseo, Roman Forum
10.00 Departure to Colosseo (metro A from Lepanto to Termini + metro B from Termini to Colosseo)
(visitors + class 2H & teachers: Fucili, Filippone, Giliberti)
11,00- 13.00 visit Colosseo: interactive tour in 14 multinational groups
13.00. -14 break/packed lunch (for the visitors provided by host families. For our pupils by school).

14.15-16.00. Orienteering “ORISTORIA” in Palatino and Roman Forum (14 groups. Each group is to be
monitored by a nominated teacher or parent) (At the end: flash mob near Costantino arch)

10.30-12.30 “Treasure art hunt” in Jewish District/Ghetto (interactive visit in 12 groups)
12.30 class 3H returns to school with Falcone (packed lunch)
12.30 -13.30 lunch for visitors + Fucili at restaurant “Gigetto”
