Tango: musica, danza, cinema
Il programma prevede una rassegna cinematografica attraverso proiezioni di:
film argentini rappresentativi dell’industria cinematografica argentina
documentari a tema rappresentativi delle attività culturali argentine legate al tango.
film muti con accompagnamento di musica di tango dal vivo, così come accadeva nelle
sale della Buenos Aires degli anni ’20, dell’ ORQUESTA MINIMAL FLORES DEL ALMA.
Quest’ultima sarà una produzione originale di INTERNATIONAL ZUCCA TANGO FESTIVAL e sarà
presentata a Milano in anteprima assoluta.
Seminari per adulti “Introduzione al tango sociale” e under 18 “giocotango, abbracciamoci e
balliamo insieme, camminiamo a tempo di musica”.
Tutte le proiezioni del Zucca Tango Festival saranno anticipate dai filmati del Progetto
Tangotour, uno sguardo nel contesto del mondo italiano del tango argentino, un viaggio in
alcune città italiane incontrando organizzatori, musicalizadores e ballerini, nei luoghi propri del
tango stesso: le milonghe. La Regia è di Gabriele Donati.

The orchestra is composed of the best Russian musicians performing in the genre of Argentine
Tango.
In August 2012 “Solo Tango Orquesta” conquered a new peak: Two-week tour in the
motherland of Tango, namely in Buenos-Aires, ended with a grand success. The orchestra has
literally “exploded” the oldest milongas of Buenos-Aires, among which are: «La Baldosa» ,
«Salon Canning» , «La Viruta «. In La Viruta the orchestra was asked to play an encore six
times! Moreover, “Solo Tango Orquesta” gave a two-hour live interview to the national tango
radio » La 2 x 4 «, which aroused tremendous interest of the audience of Argentine and other
countries of Latin America.
“Solo Tango Orchestra” has performed together with many world-famous stars of Argentine
Tango. Among the prominent tango coupes it has had the pleasure to work with are: Miguel

El dúo Fuertes-Varnerin, conformado por Agustín Fuertes (voz y guitarrón) y Ariel Varnerin (

Agustín Fuertes y Ariel Varnerín se conocieron en el año 2000 mientras iniciaban sus estudios

Flores del Alma
Flores del Alma nasce nel 2006 con l’obiettivo di realizzare un repertorio adatto alle serate da
ballo, abbracciando successivamente anche l’attività concertistica, teatrale e didattica.
Questa traiettoria ha avuto un riflesso diretto sul repertorio, sia dal punto di vista qualitativo
che da quello quantitativo, ed oggi il cahier può contare un centinaio di brani che vengono
periodicamente incrementati da nuovi arrangiamenti.
La linea stilistica, che dapprima ha avuto un prudente e necessario indirizzo di rifacimento, se
n’è via via emancipata, trovando una propria cifra distintiva.
In ragione di questa consapevolezza acquisita, e dei suoi contenuti artistici, non abbiamo
trovato bizzarro barattare la classicità della parola “trio” con la definizione “orquesta minimal”,
anche in seguito a una riflessione interna avvenuta sulla scorta di una lunga serie di commenti,
ricevuti dagli appassionati di tango più esigenti e dagli addetti ai lavori che hanno presenziato
alle nostre performance.
Nella loro gran parte questi ascoltatori hanno evidenziato come l’energia, la massa sonora, la
ricchezza dinamica e l’interplay ritmico-melodico fossero molto più incisivi di quanto una
formazione composta solo da un violino, un pianoforte ed un contrabbasso promettesse sulla
carta.
Più esplicitamente, qualcuno affermava incredulo come non si sentisse “la mancanza del
bandoneon”; a qualcun altro è parso, chiudendo gli occhi, “di essere di fronte ad una intera
orquesta tipica”; un grande maestro di ballo argentino si è spinto addirittura a dire che per la
prima volta nella sua vita, si era emozionato “ascoltando un’orchestra senza bandoneon”.
Così, giocando a crederci e desiderando sfuggire ad un certo provincialismo che si alimenta di
pregiudiziali esterofile, ci siamo spinti a creare l’etichetta inedita di “orquesta minimal”.
La definizione porta in sé (oltre che una punta di salutare autoironia) il riferimento al modello
dell’orquesta tipica - da cui i nostri arrangiamenti ed il linguaggio con cui sono interpretati
dipendono palesemente - e l’orgoglio di rappresentarne la cellula più piccola.
Da questa cellula creativa sono nate nuove ipotesi che variano o allargano l’organico, come è il
caso del sestetto d’archi o della collaborazione con la cantante argentina Paola Fernandez
Dell’Erba e con il bandonenista Gilberto Pereyra, argentino anch’egli.
Per quanto riguarda la sua attività, Flores del Alma sta seguendo i differenti indirizzi delle
proprie proposte: il mondo delle milongas e dei festival di tango; quello concertistico,
spettacolare e teatrale.
In una breve sintesi, gli appuntamenti più significativi a cui FdA ha partecipato sono: Festival
di Letteratura Parolario (Como), Festival dei Saperi (Pavia), Rosso Tango Festival (Cagliari),
Festival Internazionale di Tango a Cavallino (VE), Festival de Nuevo Tango (Trani), Festival
Anima Tango (Torino), Festival Amarcord Tango (Riccione), Festival Armonie d’Arte
(Catanzaro), Roma Tango Festival, Filologicamente Tango (Milano), Forum Julii International
Tango Festival (Cividale), Festival Baires (Milano), XI Festival Internazionale di Musica da
Camera (Iglesias), Festival Mari e Miniere (Narcao, Iglesias), Ritratti, rassegna di Musica
Contemporanea (Torino), Ottobre Musicale (Pescantina), Milongueando Tango Festival (Ivrea),
Le Notti dell’Orco Festival (Sarroch, Cagliari), Festival della Costa Smeralda (Arzachena), Etno
Tango Festival (Torino), Firenze Tango Festival. A questi si aggiunge la tournée con lo
spettacolo Baires Tango prodotto dal Teatro Lirico di Cagliari, gli spettacoli in Florida, Slovenia,
Svizzera e le milongas in moltissime città italiane, tra le quali Milano, Pisa, Trieste, Venezia,
Piacenza, Verona, Vicenza, Biella, Reggio Emilia… Inoltre FdA collabora abitualmente alle
iniziative culturali del Consolato Generale della Repubblica Argentina di Milano (Settimana della
cultura argentina, a Milano; Festa del Bicentenario dell’Indipendenza argentina, ad Acqui
Terme...).
Un’antologia di temi che compaiono nei diversi programmi di FdA è stata registrata dal vivo nel
cd Buenos Aires Hoy, parte di un progetto di promozione, fuori dall’Argentina, del tango
contemporaneo.

During February of 2008 they tour China with their show Radio Latina, covering six cities
including Shanghai. On April of the same year they tour Japan with the Momoco Aida
orchestra. In July the present their show ¨Abrazame¨ at the Menton Festival in France.
During October and November they tour Holland with the Amsterdam Sinfonetta presenting
their latest choreography with music by Osvaldo Golijov, ¨Last Round¨(a tribute to Piazzola).
During 2007 and 2008 they participated in several tango festivals presenting their shows in
different opportunities:
Bieselmorten Tango Fest (Holland), Oster Tango Basel (Switzerland), Tango festival Menton
(France), sitges Tango Festival (Spain), Fivizzano Tango World Festival (Italy), Hamburg Tango
Festival, London Tango Festival, Tango Fiesta Prague.
In 2007 they were inInternational Tango Festival of Alesandria (Italy), Dublin Tango Festival,
Hamburg Tango Festival, Bieselmorten Tango Fest (Holland), wuppertal Tango Festival
(Germany), Tongo Encounters of Monterrey and Mexico DF (Mexico), New York Tango Festival.
During December of 2006 they participate in the international festival Tango Magia in
Amsterdam.
In july of 2006 within the Soccer World Cup they are featured in a TV Ad for Solo Tango
Channel and make a TV Special together with the Sexteto Canyengue in Holland.
In april of 2006 they present their show Radio-grafias in LA VIRUTA in Buenos Aires.
From September of 2005 through 2007 they are part of the cast of the Rojo Tango show
showcased at the Faena Hotel in Buenos Aires.
On April 30, 2005 they made an appearance during the celebration of the 25th anniversary of
Queen Beatrix of Holland reign, performing Gallo Ciego (a choreography especially created for
this occasion ) with live music from the Canyengue sextet directed by Karel Craayenhof.
This event was part of a special TV show (viewed by 3.500.000 people) in the presence of
Queen Beatrix, prince Alexander and Princess Máxima and the royal family.
During June and July of this year they were on a national tour in Argentina with the show
Tango Emoción, visiting cities Cordoba, Mendoza, Santa FE, Entre Rios y Corrientes.
With the same show they also appeared in Venezuela at the Teresa Carreño Theatre in Caracas
during August.
Between December and May they were cast in La Esquina de Carlos Gardel in Buenos Aires.
Between April and November of 2004, they featured and choreographed the show “Tango
Buenos Aires” produced by mario and Daniel Celario on board Royal Caribbean International´s
“Jewell of the Seas”, visiting Great Britain, Finland, Norway, Dennmark, Sweden, The
Netherlands, Russia, Germany, Scotland, Canada, USA and the Virgin Islands.
During February and March 2004, they staffed in “Tango Emotion” directed by Mora Godoy,
touring Finland, Sweden and Chile.
Between October 2003 and January 2004, they staffed in the first lineup of “Piazzola Tango” art
and show center, directed by Milena Plebs.
During August of 2003 they were invited by Miguel Angel Zotto to participate in a show in
Verona, Italy, with his company “Tango x 2”.
As from 2003 they are part of the cast of “Tangos Mitos” as first lineup dancers and
choreographers directed by Anibal Pachano and Ana Sans. With this show they were presented at
the Spanish Language Congress in the city of Rosario.
In November of 2002 they opened in Buenos Aires the Show “Corazon de Tango”, directed by
Ruben Cuello and choreographer Milena Plebs.
As from June of 2001 until October 2002 they participated as dancers and choreographers in “
el Querandi”.
During 2001 they appeared in “La Esquina Homero Manzi” and “El Club del Vino”, during April of
the same year they appeared in the show “Tango, una Historia” at the "Plaza Hotel", New York.
In June of 2000 they opened their show “Tangos Corazonicos” at the Santa Maria (Buenos Aires)
theatre, as choreographers and directors.
March 1998 through February 2001, they were cast in the Nueva Compañia Tangueros, as first
dancers with wich they premiered the show “Milonga Boulevard” in New York, USA, playing the
lead couple of the Julio Cortazar piece (Las Puertas del Cielo): Mauro and Celina. Their work
received excellent reviews from critic Jack Anderson of the "New York Times".
With the same show and with “Tangueros, Cuatro Noches” and “Postales de Buenos Aires” of the
same company they made several tours through the USA and Europe visiting New York,
Seattle, Tacoma, Anchorage, Fairbanks, Valdez, Santa Rosa, Sante Fe, Fort Worth, san
Antonio, Coral Springs, Chicago, San Diego, Miami, Florence, Milan, Siena, Torino, Palermo,
Messina, Pescara, Catania, Parma, Trento, Zurich, Rome, Sriacura (Greek Theatre), Doceaqua,
Geneve (International Balleto Festival, directed by Maurice Bejart), Neuchtel, Rimini, etc. They
received excellent critics from the press.
In Early 1997 they start their career as a solo couple appearing in presentations with : Adrina
Varela, Argentino Ledesma, Maria Volonte, Pascual “Cholo” Mamone, the Gigi Dángelis
Orchestra, Ricardo “chiqui” Pereyra, El Quinteto Real, Hugo Marcel, Cuarteto Volpe, Orquesta
Color Tango, Sexteto Canyengue, Ernesto Baffa.
They start their artistic career in the well known Ballet Brandsen in 1989, as cast members
during 8 years. They made appearances with this company in the most important venues of
Argentina such as: Cosquin Festival (89,90,93,95,96), Luna Park, Gran Rex Theatre, Opera
Theatre, Teatro Argentino de La Plata, Teatro Coliseo Podesta, and the Teatro Colon, among
others.
They also toured Latin America visiting Chile, Brazil (Festival de la California and Festival de la
Mohenda) Paraguay ( Ypacarai Festival) and Uruguay.
Melina Brufman y Claudio Gonzales
Melina Brufman: Her history as a ballet dancer begins in Bahia Blanca, her hometown, but
when she arrived in Buenos Aires, Melina discovered the Tango by chance and fell in love. "Her
body asks to dance Tango" and together with Claudio Gonzalez, she interprets the essence and
the poetry of Argentine Tango, beginning with expression and giving it a precise choreographic
construction that is never predictable.
Claudio Gonzalez: Began to dance tango at the age of 12 with his father Pedro as a teacher,
and then continued with the teachings of Antonio Todaro. The love and the passion of tango
makes his life special. Growing up he began to practice various expressive forms as well as
artistic theater, contemporary dance, and circus arts, seeking to merge them with the basic
element of his training: Tango Argentino. He has participated in the show Tangokinesis under
the direction of Ana Maria Stekelman.
Within each of us there is poetry, love, rage, intuition, magic, conflict, the unexpected, the
absurd .... In the early 2000s Melina and Claudio created the show Episodios Cifrados en
Tango, that uses Tango foremost as a narrative, expressive language to present different
situations and stories that explore human relationships. Applauded in the most prestigious
theaters in the world: Broadway's Schubert Theater, the Kodak LA, Miami's Jackie Gleason
Theater and Teresa Carreño di Caracas, they continue to fascinate and excite their audience.
Agustina Berenstein y Rodrigo Palacios
At compàs de la Guardia Nueva.... young dancers... Rodrigo and Agustina seem to be two kids
of the Guardia Vieja- two milongueros from a timeless era .... navigated, self-confident and yet
in their own reserved way, with eyes that shine with musical light, smiling, at ease on the
dancefloor. They dance a dynamic tango salòn, soft, circular, symbiotically engaged to the
melody and the compas, enveloping in a fluid spiral. Rodrigo and Agustina are now known in
the major international festivals for their quality of movement, musical interpretation, and
their generous personalities.
José Munoz
Nato nel 1942 a Buenos Aires, Argentina, manifesta fin da piccolo una passione per il disegno
con particolare interesse per il fumetto .
A dodici anni frequenta la “Escuela Panamericana de Arte” avendo come maestri Alberto
Breccia e Hugo Pratt. Contemporaneamente segue dei corsi di scultura e pittura presso l’atelier
di Humberto Cerantonio.
Esordisce nel fumetto come assistente di Francisco Solano López e illustrando storie scritte da
Héctor Oesterheld per le riviste “Hora Cero” e “Frontera”. Si mette in luce nel 1963 disegnando
la serie poliziesca “Precinto 56” su testi di Eugenio Zappietro per la rivista “Misterix” (in Italia
su “Sergente Kirk”).
Nel 1972 parte per l’Europa risiedendo prima a Londra, poi a Barcelona e radicandosi infine in
Italia. Nel 1974 incontra lo scrittore argentino Carlos Sampayo, evento fondamentale che
segnerà l’inizio di una lunga e fruttuosa collaborazione. Nasce così il personaggio di Alack
Sinner, detective privato le cui umane avventure, avvolte nel jazz, descrivono miserie e nobiltà
in una New York così immaginata da essere reale.
Seguiranno una lunga serie di personaggi e storie: “Nel bar” (1981), “Sudor Sudaca” (1985),
“Tango e milonga” (1985) “Sophie" (1986), “Giochi di luce” (1988), “Europa in fiamme”
(1989), “Billie Holiday” (1991), “Il Poeta” (1991), “Nei bar” (2002), “Il libro” (2004), “Carlos
Gardel” (2009).
Nel 1994 disegna, su testi di Jérôme Charyn, “Il morso del serpente” e “Panna Maria”. Nel
1995, con Paolo Bertella Farnetti, realizza “La Magolfa”, un fumetto a colori e una serie di
vignette di satira politica.
A partire dal 1999, pubblica una serie di raccolte di testi e disegni in bianco e nero e a colori:
“Orillas de Buenos Aires” (1999), “Carnet Argentin” (2000), “Féminin pluriel” (2002), “Paris
Parenthèses” (2004), “La pampa y Buenos Aires” (2006).
Ha realizzato diverse affiches, copertine di libri e riviste, e ha illustrato “Pirati” di A. Conan
Doyle, “Les damnés de la Pampa” di Manuel Prado, “Las fieras cómplices” di Horacio Quiroga,
“El perseguidor” di Julio Cortázar, “I nove miliardi di nomi di Dio” di Arthur Clarke, "Lo
straniero" di Albert Camus e altri.
Vive e lavora tra Milano e Parigi.
