Brooch : violin bow
FIB-1100
Description :
* Very tight skinny bow ( bow and pin parallel ) , round section or sometimes carree ; unilateral spring is a coil , door - pin is a
simple spiral winding , ploye to form the gutter and sometimes preceded by a serpentine pattern. The arc can be is a smooth
wire , or twist .
Material : bronze
Comments :
This group , much more abundant than that of a door - pin brooches spiral (FIB-1099) , should not be confused with
asymmetrical copies (FIB-1103 , 1104 - FIB , FIB -1105 ... etc) , the distinction not always easy being in the case of
incomplete objects ( some doubtful cases are integrated in the rest of this list). P. von Eles Masi ( 1986) identifies a variety A
with a truly skinny bow, while in its var. B , the arc can be a little thicker than the other parts , spring and pin style.
