Dear Parents and Friends of ISF Junior School
1. Tuesday we had our whole school, class, and individual photos. This year we
formed a huge ISF in the cortile to show our school spirit. It should be a great
addition to the yearbook.
2. We have our Specialist Teacher Coffee Afternoons Friday, Oct. 7 and Friday,
Oct. 21 in meetings from 2:45 - 3:30. Come and listen to our teachers speak
about their curriculum for the upcoming year.

3. Friday, Oct. 14 is Parent/Teacher Conference Day – NO SCHOOL for JS
students. You should have received sign-up details for your children’s individual
teacher conferences on the 14th. If not or if you need help with the link, please
call the school. There will be an Usborne Book fair in the Mensa where you can
buy English books and there will be limited child care available in the Early Years
Mensa. You can also drop off items for the Bazaar! Please see the attached
flyer for details.
4. Saturday, Oct. 15 is our school’s Family Autumn Bazaar & Potluck. There is
still time to volunteer to help out and to bring food or sale items.

There will be games for kids, a soccer
competition, sales of used uniforms and a
flea market. Proceeds from the games
will go to support the Italian Red Cross’
Earthquake Relief Fund.
5. We have completed our first round of our MAP and CPAA testing in grades FK-5.
Next week our teachers will sit down and analyze individual and group
performance on our assessments.
6. As a reminder from the parent handbook…
“We are always pleased to recognize a child’s birthday at school. However if a
parent wishes to send in a cake, please be sure to notify the teacher in advance
as we need to check for possible food allergies…” I would add that cupcakes make
a much simpler way to celebrate than whole cakes.
7. We are collecting Esselunga vouchers for school equipment. If you have gathered
any, please deposit them in the box situated outside the reception.
8. Extra-Curricular Activities have started! One change this year is that the
activities are from 3:45 – 4:40, or 55 minutes. It is very important that parents
arrive to pick up children on time. The campus closes for the night 15 minutes
after the end of the activities, so please be prompt and exit campus by 4:55.
Families that pick up after that time, risk losing the opportunity to participate in
the activity.
9. The JS Lower Playground will be open for family use after school until the
campus shuts down for the evening after Extra-Curricular Activities at 4:55. We
do ask that parents provide visual supervision of students in our playground
any time after school and that you follow the playground rules that we use
during the school day and that are written in the Parent Handbook.
10. As part of our efforts to collaborate with schools across the world, we have joined
the Association for Music in International Schools with Tanja Kustrin as our
representative. Attached is the welcome from the organization. We look forward
to international collaborations between teaching staff and students.

Cari genitori e amici di ISF Junior School,
1. Martedi sono state fatte le fotografie della nostra scuola,della classe e individuali.
Quest’anno abbiamo formato un enorme ISF in cortile per dimostrare il nostro
spirito collettivo.Sara’ bello vederlo nell’annuario della scuola.

Venerdi 7 ottobre e 21 ottobre dalle 14.45 alle 15.30 avra’ luogo l’incontro
con gli specialisti della scuola.Siete pregati di venire ad ascoltare la spiegazione
dei loro programmi per questo anno scolastico.

Venerdi 14 ottobre ci sara’ l’incontro/genitori insegnanti – NON ci sara’
scuola per gli studenti del JS. Dovreste aver ricevuto le informazioni per
prendere un appuntamento con la vostra insegnante di classe.Se non riuscite ad
aprire il link,chiedete aiuto alla scuola. Ci sara’ inoltre una fiera del libro in
inglese nella mensa della scuola con servizio di babysitting in mensa dell’asilo.
Potete anche lasciare oggetti per il bazar!
4. Sabato 15 ottobre ci sara’ il nostro bazar autunnale e potluck! C’e’ ancora
tempo per offrire il vostro aiuto come volontari o portare cibo o vendere

Ci saranno giochi per bambini,una partita
di calcio,la vendita di divise usate e un
mercato delle pulci.Il ricavato andra’ alla
croce rossa italiana a favore dei
terremotati.
5. Abbiamo completato il primo ciclo di MAP testing e CPAA test per le classi FK-5.
La settimana prossima i nostri insegnanti valuteranno i risultati sia individuali sia
di gruppo.
6. Dal manuale della scuola vi ricordo che…
“ Siamo felici di riconoscere il compleanno di uno studente nella nostra scuola. Se
volete mandare una torta assicuratevi di farlo presente alla vostra insegnante di
classe per verificare che non ci siano allergie…” Vorrei aggiungere che i cupcakes
sono molto piu semplici di una torta.
7.
Stiamo collezionando vouchers dell’Esselunga per gli attrezzi della scuola.Se ne
avete a disposizione siete pregati di depositarli nella scatola che si trova fuori
dell’ufficio.
8.
Le attivita’del doposcuola sono iniziate!Un cambiamento dall’anno scorso e’
che le attivita’ iniziano alle 15.45 e finiscono alle 16.40 o 55 minuti.E’
importante che i genitori vengano a riprendere i loro figli in orario.La scuola
chiude 15 minuti dopo la fine delle attivita’,quindi siete pregati di uscire dalla
scuola entro le 16.55. I genitori che vengono in ritardo rischiano di non poter
partecipare all’attivita’.
9. Il JS Lower Playground sara’ disponibile per le famiglie dopo scuola fino alla
chiusura alle 16.55. Chiediamo ai genitori di supervisionare i vostri figli nel
giardino e di seguire le regole che sono scritte nel manuale della scuola.
10. Abbiamo deciso di far parte dell’Association for Music in International Schools
con Tanja Kustrin come nostra rappresentante. Vi riporto sotto il benvenuto
dell’organizzazione.Siamo lieti di collaborare con altre scuole internazionali e i loro
insegnanti.
