VOTOS FT: validating a DAMA
simulator
• In order to better understand DAMA interactions with TCP, we wrote
a DAMA module for the ns-2 simulator
• The module was validated against measurements made on Skyplex

The Votos FT: TFRC/DAMA
• The VOTOS simulation tool allowed us:
– identifying the performance issues of TFRC
over DAMA
– evaluating the performance enhancement of
QS (Quick Start) in reducing the startup delay
of congestion controlled video sources.
– paving the way towards a soft cross-layer
interaction between QS and DAMA
