Selle SMP lancia le novità 2010: Carbon Lite e Forma Crb
Anche nel 2009 il brand dei fratelli Franco e Maurizio Schiavon esporrà a Eurobike 2009-Big Bike Business
(padiglione A2 stand 401). La fiera si svolgerà a Friederichshafen, in Germania, nei pressi del lago di Costanza, dal 2
al 5 settembre. Le prime tre giornate saranno riservati agli addetti ai lavori, il giorno 5 invece spazio al pubblico.
Eurobike, con i suoi più di mille espositori accreditati è diventata ormai tappa obbligatoria per le aziende del mondo
della bicicletta e Selle SMP presenterà in anteprima mondiale le novità della gamma 2010: i modelli Carbon Lite e
Forma Crb. In un mese di settembre intensissimo seguiranno la Fiera di Milano (Eicma, 18-21 settembre. padiglione
9P, stand E 39) e Las Vegas (Interbike, 23-25 settembre padiglione IB stand 281).
Per il 2010 la gamma smp4bike si arricchisce di nuovi modelli per andare incontro alla sempre più nutrita
schiera di ciclisti che, in tutto il mondo, apprezzano le originali caratteristiche di performance elevate che, assieme al
comfort eccezionale, all’aereazione unica, all’accattivante e ricercato design, confermano il “design on your body”.
Dall’esperienza maturata con il modello Lite 209, dedicato a chi è alla ricerca di una maggiore leggerezza e di una
seduta confortevole, nascono tre nuovi modelli: Carbon Lite (175 gr - scafo in fibra di carbonio con telaio in tubo di
acciaio inox Aisi 304), Forma CRB (170 gr - telaio Carbon Rail, fibra lunga di carbonio) e infine il modello Forma (230
gr - telaio in tubo di acciaio inox Aisi 304). I due modelli Formasono disponibili anche nella versione Lady.
Selle SMP non può ovviamente tralasciare le attuali tendenze di mercato per quanto riguarda l’estetica, pertanto, alle
attuali versioni delle Carbon Color, si è aggiunto il modello Carbon White 165 gr (con telaio in tubo di acciaio inox Aisi
304) colorato in bianco. La gamma smp4bike, prodotta interamente ed esclusivamente in Italia e riconoscibile dal
tricolore posto nel retro, si distingue per la forma affusolata studiata per migliorare le prestazioni attraverso l’aumento
della circolazione sanguigna alle gambe.
Il canale centrale della sella è una caratteristica fuori del comune per le sue dimensioni: ci passa quasi una
mano e permette ad ano, prostata, vene pudende, vena e arteria dorsale profonda del pene, scroto e testicoli, e per
la donna a grandi e piccole labbra e clitoride, di non subire alcuno schiacciamento.
Il canale centrale assicura inoltre un’aerazione naturale. L’aria è libera di circolare anche in corrispondenza delle parti
intime e questo evita la spiacevole sensazione di calore o le classiche irritazioni da sfregamento.
La seduta del ciclista nelle selle smp4bike è ripartita fra i glutei e la parte inferiore dell’osso del bacino (le tuberosità
ischiatiche) e la posizione è favorita dalla forma del suo retro che, oltre a evitare schiacciamenti del coccige su terreni
sconnessi, permette morbide entrate ed uscite dal retro quando il terreno lo richiede anche a chi effettua competizioni
di bike estremo con short larghi.
Sono stati proprio gli utilizzatori a evidenziare come le caratteristiche brevettate di Selle SMP quale
l’originale becco del naso della sella, disegnato per non comprimere le parti intime del ciclista e per fornire una base
piatta, sia particolarmente valido negli sforzi da seduto soprattutto quando si affrontano lunghe salite e come aiuto
nelle discese, off rendo un maggior controllo della bici con le cosce anche nelle entrate e uscite sul davanti
permettendone un uso agevole anche in condizioni impegnative.
La lunghezza del telaio consente la più ampia regolazione attualmente sul mercato dell’avanzamento / arretramento
della sella rispetto al manubrio, rendendo particolarmente facile l’installazione su qualsiasi combinazione di
telaio/montante del sedile.
Le selle smp4bike sono le pioniere di un nuovo modo di concepire la sella per bicicletta. Nella prestigiosa
rivista scientifica americana “Journal of Sexual Medicine” sono stati pubblicati i risultati di una ricerca comparata con
altre selle da competizione, dove è stato provato che la particolare forma ergonomica della sella SMP limita al
minimo la “compressione sulle strutture del pavimento pelvico” proteggendo così la perfusione sanguigna sui tessuti
molli mentre aumenta il flusso sui vasi sanguigni che corrono all’interno della gamba.

I modelli smp4bike 2010
Full Carbon (105 gr), Carbon Lite (175 gr), Carbon, Carbon White e Carbon Color (165 gr), Composit CRB
(Carbon Rail 150 gr) e Forma CRB (Carbon Rail 170 gr) rappresentano la soluzione per chi ricerca la massima
leggerezza unita all’eccezionale comfort. Evolution, Stratos, Glider, Lite 209, Avant, Pro e plus sono fornite di
imbottiture in elastomero nei soli punti di appoggio delle tuberosità ischiatiche e dei glutei.
I sette modelli si differenziano per l’ampiezza dello scafo e lo spessore delle imbottiture in modo da trovare la
soluzione ideale in funzione della struttura e del sesso del ciclista.
La Evolution ha un’imbottitura minimale ed è quindi particolarmente indicata per fisici molto asciutti, bacini stretti. La
Lite209 unisce in sé tutte le peculiarità di questa gamma di selle.
Ottime intermedie, come imbottiture e dimensioni, tra Evolution e Lite209 sono la Stratos e la Glider.
Le classiche Avant Pro e Plus sono infi ne caratterizzate da uno scafo più largo rispetto ai precedenti modelli e da
un’imbottitura “integrale” per chi ricerca il massimo comfort.

Also in 2009 Franco and Maurizio Schiavon brothers’ band will exhibit at Eurobike 2009-Big Bike Business (A2
stand 401). This fair will be held at Friederichshafen, in Germany, close to the Costanza lake , from 2 till 5
September. The first three days are reserved for the working staff, the fifth one is open for the public. Eurobike, with
over one thousand of exhibitors, it’s a compulsory point for all the companies from the cycling sector and the SMP
Saddles will present their world preview of the new of the 2010 range: the Carbon Lite and Forma Crb models.
During the intense months of September there will follow the Fair in Milan (Eicma 18-21 september, 9P stand E 39)
and Las Vegas (Interbike 23-25 september, IB stand 281) as well.
In 2010, the smp4bike collection will be expanded to include a series of new models, meeting the needs of the
ever increasing flocks of cyclists who appreciate the top performance, exceptional comfort, unique ventilation, and
striking yet refined design of our “design on your body” method.
The Lite 209 experience, dedicated to those on the hunt for a lighter, more comfortable saddle, has evolved into three
new models: Carbon Lite (175 g – carbon fi bre body with a Aisi 304 stainless steel tube frame), Forma CRB (170 g Carbon Rail frame, long carbon fi bre), and Forma (230 g - Aisi 304 stainless steel tube frame). The two “Forma”
models are also available in the Lady version.
Attentive as always to market trends, Selle SMP has added Carbon White (165 g, Aisi 304 stainless steel tube frame)
to its Carbon Color collection.
Made entirely in Italy, and clearly recognizable by the Italian flag placed on the rear, the smp4bike collection is
marked by its tapered shape, designed to improve performance by increasing blood circulation in the legs.
The central channel in the saddle is an uncommon characteristic due of its dimensions: there is nearly room for a
whole hand, and it allows anus, prostate,
pudenda veins, penis deep dorsal vein and artery, scrotum and testicles, as well as women’s labia minora and majora
and clitoris, not to be squashed.
This central channel also ensures natural ventilation. Air can circulate around the cyclist’s private parts, avoiding
unpleasant feelings of heat or irritation from rubbing.
On smp4bike saddles, cyclists sit partly on their buttocks and partly on the lower pelvis (ischial tuberosities). This
position is supported by the shape of the back of the saddle, which
avoids pressure on the coccyx on uneven terrain, and allows entering and exiting softly from the rear when the
ground requires it. This is useful for those cyclists taking part in extreme biking with wide shorts.
It was users who highlighted how the Selle SMP patented features, such as the original beak of the saddle nose,
designed to avoid the squashing of private parts and to supply a fl at base, are particularly good while seated,
especially going up long slopes, and when going downhill, off ering better bike control
with the thighs, also when entering and exiting from the front. This makes the saddles easy to use even in tough

The frame length, which enables the saddle to be moved closer or further from the handlebar than on any other

a range of competition saddles. The survey proved that the particular ergonomic shape of the SMP saddles limits the

blood perfusion on soft tissues and at the same time increasing blood flow in the inner leg vessels.

The 2010 smp4bike models
