40th anniversary

Quest’anno la BUP Utensili Srl di Pesaro celebra 40 anni di
attività ed in queste pagine abbiamo il piacere di tracciare
gli episodi più significativi che hanno fatto la storia dell’industria pesarese.
This year BUP Utensili Srl of Pesaro will be celebrating its
40th anniversary in the industry. Below you can find a short
history of the most significant events that have made the
Pesaro-based business the success it is today.
La B.U.P. Utensili nasce nel 1968 dalla volontà di Umberto
Battistelli e Piero Bertuccioli di affermarsi nel settore della
fabbricazione degli utensili per il legno. Entrambi provengono da una lunga esperienza maturata presso altre industrie
e, divenuti amici, decidono di creare una propria attività, indipendente. Inizialmente si stabiliscono in una vecchia casa
colonica: le spese dell’affitto e dei macchinari li costringono
ad ipotecare le loro abitazioni. Un gesto audace per quei
tempi ma che l’avvenire vedrà premiato. I due titolari sono gli
unici lavoratori ed hanno la qualifica di Artigiani. L’impegno
profondo unito a una continua dedizione consentono loro di
aumentare la produzione, di assumere nuovo personale, di
sviluppare nuove tecnologie, di conquistare una più ampia
B.U.P. Utensili was founded in 1968 by Umberto Battistelli
and Piero Bertuccioli whose aim was to consolidate the
company in the sector of woodworking tools.
Both men had gained years of experience while working for
other industries and thus decided to set up their own business. They started working in an old farmhouse: the costs
for rent and machinery forced them to mortgage their own
homes. A daring move in those days and a gamble that
luckily paid off.The two owners, both of whom were skilled
artisans, were the only workers.
Their commitment and dedication enabled them to increase production, hire new personnel, develop new technologies and gain a significant share of the market.

nuova sede e conquista l’appellativo d’industria, con 1.300
m2 di estensione e 15 operai. Dopo circa dieci anni di attività si verifica un boom economico significativo: aumentano
le vendite e il mercato può espandersi. Dall’iniziale rapporto
con le aziende locali si è passati ad un mercato che si estende su tutto il territorio italiano e quello mondiale. La qualità
del prodotto viene riconosciuta ed apprezzata senza esitazione: la BUP Utensili diventa così un punto di riferimento
stabile per molte aziende. Oggi, la tecnologia impiegata nella
produzione di utensili si avvale dei macchinari più avanzati.
Si parte dal lavoro di studio e progettazione grafica computerizzata dell’utensile tramite l’utilizzo di software CAD e
CAD/CAM. Quest’ultimo permette di operare in uno spazio
tridimensionale e di trasmettere il disegno grafico della fresa
direttamente ai centri di lavoro a controllo numerico che
provvedono a realizzarlo su materiale di prima qualità.
La BUP Utensili è anche specializzata nella produzione di
utensili al diamante. Con un filo d’ottone a elettroerosione
vengono tagliate alcune aree di placchette da un disco di
diamante industriale ( PCD ). In seguito queste sono saldate
sul corpo fresa e affilate su macchine Vollmer.
Il processo si conclude con test completi ed accurati dell’utensile per verificare la sua precisione: la prova su legno è il
controllo finale che ne garantisce l’alta qualità.
In 1978, the company moved to new headquarters and
became an industry extending over a surface area of 1,300
square metres and boasting a workforce of 15 resources.
After about 10 years in the business, the company experienced a significant economic boom: sales increased and
their market expanded. The company went from working
with local businesses to working with businesses based
throughout Italy and abroad. The quality of their products
was instantly recognized and appreciated, thus making
BUP Utensili a consolidated reference point for numerous
companies. Today, the technology used in the production
of tools is based on state-of-the-art machinery.
The various work phases involve the study and computerized graphic design of the tool based on the use of CAD
and CAD/CAM software. The latter allows for 3D design
and transfer of the drawing from the milling cutter directly
to numerically controlled work centres which then implement it on top quality material. BUP Utensili also specializes in the production of diamond tools. A brass thread with
EDM is used to cut several bits from an industrial diamond
disc (PCD). These are then welded on the milling cutter
body and sharpened on Vollmer machines.
The process is completed with complete, accurate testing
of the tools to check precision: tests on wood are the final
guarantee of top-level quality.

ed offre una elevata qualità di prodotto e di servizio, continuando la sua espansione sui mercati esteri, la BUP Utensili,
ha recentemente aperto una filiale a Istanbul/Turchia.
