PREREQUISITI: Conoscenze di base di reti di telecomunicazioni. OBIETTIVI FORMATIVI: Scopo dell’insegnamento è quello di descrivere le architetture, le tecnologie abilitanti ed i principi di progettazione delle reti di telecomunicazioni nella Internet of Things. Gli argomenti trattati nelle lezioni teoriche saranno riscontrati in laboratorio per ottenere tangibili prove sul campo dell’efficacia delle soluzioni architetturali presentate nel corso. CONTENUTI: Fondamenti di Internet (2 ore): concetti di base, reti di telecomunicazioni, architetture protocollari e modello TCP/IP (richiami). Elementi di IoT (2 ore): requisiti architetturali e di sistema, consumi energetici, tolleranza ai guasti, specifiche di qualità del servizio, domini applicativi. Sistemi Radio Frequency Identification (2 ore): tag, accesso multiplo, applicazioni, standard EPC. Il protocollo IPv6 (8 ore): indirizzamento, instradamento e formato del pacchetto. Architetture e protocolli di comunicazione per l’Internet of Things (6 ore): 802.15, ZigBee, Wireless HART, 6LoWPAN, RPL, CoAP, Wireless Sensor Network e IoT industriale. Le reti di telecomunicazioni per applicazioni industriali (4 ore): tecnologia HART. Standard IEC/ISA SP50. Industrial Ethernet. Foundation Fieldbus, WorldFIP, SERCOS. CAN, TTCAN, FLexray, LIN. Profibus, P-Net, Ethernet power link, Lonworks. Lo standard IEC 61850 ed i sistemi di comunicazione nelle Smart Grid. Power Line Communication. Attività di laboratorio/esercitazioni (24 ore): analisi sperimentale di sistemi IoT su piattaforma OpenWSN. METODI DI INSEGNAMENTO: Lezioni ed esercitazioni in aula supportate da videoproiettore e lavagna. Lezioni ed esercitazioni in laboratorio per analisi sperimentale di reti IoT. CONOSCENZE E ABILITÀ ATTESE: Capacità di dimensionare reti di telecomunicazioni in sistemi IoT. Capacità di progettare reti a commutazione di pacchetto basate su protocollo IPv6. Conoscenza delle caratteristiche principali, dei limiti e dei campi di applicazione delle tecnologie IoT. Conoscenza di piattaforme per la realizzazione e il test di reti di telecomunicazioni in sistemi IoT. Tecniche per la progettazione e l’analisi sperimentale di di reti di telecomunicazioni in sistemi IoT. PREREQUISITES: Basic knowledge of packet switching networks. AIMS: The aim of this course is to introduce and describe the architectures, the enabling technologies, and the design guidelines for packet switching networks in the Internet of Things. Theoretical concepts will be verified thorugh experimentation campaigns in the activities carried out in the laboratory. CONTENTS: Internet fundamentals (2 hours): basic concepts, telecommunication networks, protocol architectures, TCP/IP. Introduction to the IoT (2 hours): architectural and system requirements, energy efficiency, fault tolerance, Quality of Service, and application domains. Radio Frequency Identification (2 hours): tag, multiple access, applications, EPC standard. IPv6 (8 ore): addressing, routing, and datagram format. Networking protocols for the Internet of Things (6 hours): 802.15, ZigBee, Wireless HART, 6LoWPAN, RPL, CoAP, Wireless Sensor Network, and industrial IoT.
