FLORIM MAKES ITS DEBUT AT THE SALONE SALO NE DEL MOBILE TO OUTLINE SPACES AND TILING SOLUTIONS FOR THE ARCHITECTURE OF TOMORROW Florim, a benchmark company in the production of ceramic surfaces, makes its debut in the Salone Ufficio Pavilion at the Salone Internazionale del Mobile with a special project named “Progetto: Ufficio da abitare” (Office for living) under the direction of Jean Nouvel. Flexibility, technology and innovation are the keywords to describe this Florim project: an interpretation of the home-working design for the architect of the future, in cooperation with the National Council of Architects (CNAPPC). “Casa dell’Architetto 3.0” (Architect’s Home 3.0) devised by Florim is a lively, interactive place, designed by Leopoldo Freyrie according to criteria that have long been the hallmarks of this ceramics firm: research, sustainability and innovation. A 200 sq,m. space has been created to highlight the trends of the interior decoration: it’s a welcoming, fluid place where the private areas dialogue with the working zones, furnishings with technological elements, where the traditional pencil interacts with software of the latest generation. The architect’s home-studio at Salone del mobile will really work: you’ll be able to consult magazines and contents supplied by the CNAPPC – accommodated here as a guest of Florim – or have the first access to the innovative, but still work-in-progress, software “Nuvola dell’architetto” (Architect’s Cloud). A leading role is taken by some important new features, resulting from applied research carried out in the company’s laboratories and from industrial investments made by Florim over the past few years, such as the revolutionary Slim/4+ system that combines, in a thickness of just 4.5 mm, the advantages of being layed either with adhesive or as a floating floor: it’s ideal for renovations and for temporary architectural installations. Slim/4+ offers a clever interpretation of sustainable, “light” architecture with no demolition of the old flooring, and less CO2 emissions linked to the transport of materials. Also starring in the “Casa dell’Architetto 3.0” are the extra-large sizes (80x180 cm and 120x300 cm) and the collections dedicated to architecture: FLOOR GRES with its features of durability and high technical performance; REX, giving a flavour of the new trends in tiles, and slabs inspired by precious natural materials (leather, horn, wood, marble and stone); CASA DOLCE CASA and CASAMOOD, offering warm atmospheres, inspired by the harmony of the colours of Nature and combining materials such as glass, painting, adhesives and grouts with porcelain tiles, in a coordinated project of colour and surfaces. The “Casa dell’Architetto 3.0” marks Florim’s debut at the Salone Internazionale del Mobile and represents a synthesis between a vision aimed at combining quality with tradition and the ability to design innovative solutions, interpreting the evolution of the market as the key to success of the design Made in Italy.
