E.X.P. - Pachamama
Review by: Rob Wrong (StonerRock.com)
Vincebus Eruptum/Vinyl Magic 3
70's fury high energy rock is one way to describe E.X.P.- but there is so much
to the sound of this band that it wouldn't be fair to stop just there.
Some of it reminds me of Spine of God era Monster Magnet- you can hear the
ton of classic influences though- MC5, Sabbath, Zeppelin...no denying the
greats. EXP delivers a more polished sound that's mixed up and rock solid- it's
heavy- tight down-tuned- melodic thick, psychedelic...bluesy...
The songs tend to differ in tempo and feels throughout Pachamama, but there
is no doubt that it's the same band carrying the same style. The vocals are a
key element in their presence, and are right up front and 8melodic, sometimes
drenched in acid hallucinating effects. The time and tempos range from
everything to Orange Goblin to ATP- Roachpowder...these guys would fit on a
nice bill with any of these bands.
This is some serious rock not to be taken lightly- It's nothing new, but it's a
mean brew of stoner rock that I am glad to have in my collection, thank you
very much:)

HEAVY meets FLANGER, SPACE meets ROCK, BLUE CHEER meets HAWKWIND
and in the end a good spot of HITCHHIKER THROUGH THE GALAXY. The
product of this all is E.X.P. Some songtitles for example: "Supavacuum cleaner
and the atomic mushrooms eaters" or "Sex, beatific night, magma mother
lights the yawnin´ tar planes". Order this one and you don´t need drugs
anymore. E.X.P. are the unthroned Kinx of the psyche Underground. Even
"Kick Out The Jamss" from the good ol´ MC 5 rocks as HELL !!! So don´t be
stupid and a lazy motherf***er het a copy of this one.

E.X.P. – Pachamama
Review by Matt Frighetto
It’s been sometime since we heard from Italian Fuzzer’s E.X.P, I only own a 3
–Track promo prior to this recording, but its enough to understand that E.X.P
are lover’s of true pure fuzz! This release is only available on the Vincebus
Eruptum Magazine which is a cool Italian group of hard working folks who put
out damn good music to the masses.
This disc has a few different twists I had expected more flat out fuzz like their
previous 3-Track recording but never the less a different approach is
sometimes good so it keeps us from being bored of a band. On Pachamama
you can expect everything from straight rock to blues to flat out fuzz assaults.
Stand out track and always a favorite of mine is “Tripscapes” this song has
been reworked and recorded to its purest quality, the name says it all a song
with big ball riffs massive bass and precision drum work expect nothing but
wah wah driven fuzz and cosmic delights.
This is a fine record and has plenty of diversity if you can try getting this one
you will not be disappointed, I know I can be hard to get, but hopefully E.X.P
will release it so it can be enjoyed by everyone! Italy has some strong talent
and if you like “That’s all Folks” and “Ojm” you’ll for sure enjoy what E.X.P
have to offer

Supafuzz! Three weeks after first hearing this little gem from Italy, and I'm
still not sure what the "E.X.P." part of the moniker is. Some Italian acronym for
a rarely used idiom? The initials of someone's grandmother? Or simply nothing
at all but an attempt to get journalists such as myself in a quandary? We'll
never know the answer, I fear. Friggin' Eyetalians. HA! Just kidding...They
make great pizza and I'm a big fan of that wine that comes in a straw jacket.
OK well, Pachamama is blend of Trogg's-like Psychedelia and the MC5's
musical abandon. They should have called this "Fun With Volume" because
that's what I'm figuring is what is happening here. Set up a guitar, drums,
bass and loads of amps, a fridge full of beer, a bong and have at it. Who cares
what the hell it comes off as as long as there are three chords you can work
with and the rock n' roll spirit. I dig it. Want to know what "Supavacuum
Cleaner and the Atomic Mushroom Eaters" sounds like? It sounds just like it
reads. No surprises. Tons of fuzz and hijinks.
Speaking of the MC5, there is a mighty cover of the seminal "Kick Out The
Jamss" on here, which might be the best cover I've heard since Rollins tackled
the classic.
This isn't going to change the world. We've heard it before. But it'll be a hit at
your next beer bash. Especially with a nitrous oxide chaser.

New material from Italy's heaviest fuzz-kings ! I've lost some good words
about their last promo, but "Pachamama" knows to entertain with much
stronger songs. More influenced from the classic 70's Detroit bands (yes, you
name it: MC5, SRB, etc.), but they are also aware of bands as Fu Manchu or
Nebula, without being just a simple copy. With enough heaviness and drive,
they'll take you on a sonic blues-laden ride through nine tracks. The journey
starts after a short spoken intro with the white-burning thunderous opener
"Supavacuum Cleaner & The Atomic Mushroom Eaters". In tribute to their
Detroit influence, there's a nice cover version of "Kick Out The Jamss", while a
few tracks are more laid-back and blues oriented, so you've got enough time
to smoke the next reefer.
This guys know how to stockpile the heaviest riffage in combination with an
ultra fuzzadelic sound, as in "Sex,Beatitic Night, Magma Mother Lights". One of
my faves is "Blues for a Guilded Elephant", with its thick slow riffing combined
with this groovy 60's vibe. After nearly 29 min. this entertaining ride ends and
as a result you can hear, that E.X.P. haven't invented something new, but
there songs are fueled with dynamic passionate energy. The whole production
sounds very organic and massive so I'm looking forward to the upcoming
debut album. "Pachamama" comes out for free with Vincebus Eruptum # 7 and
will be limited to 500 copies, so be fast. For more infos about E.X.P., check out
the Cosmic Lava interview.

senesi E.X.P., fantasiosamente intitolata “Pachamama”.
inconsueti, divertenti e super psichedelici.
“supavacuum cleaner and the atomic mushroom eater” è un missile garage
and the masticators of frequencies part 1” , un mid tempo acidissimo che
Manchu di “in search of...”
La seconda parte di “E.x.p.’z and the masticators of frequencies ” chiude

Fuzzrock from Italy, and unfortunately I have no further information on the
band, o.k. on their homepage you can read they are around since ever, ...so
are they God?
O.k., let the music do the talking.
After a short intro the first song "Supavacuumcleaner and the atomic
mushroom eaters" shows you what`s to come: high class fuzzrock with
psychedelic and outspaced sounds. And all on a very high level. This first fast
rocker is followed by another one in the same direction. And it`s really a
pleasure to listen to these songs. E.X.P. know how to bring you in a good
mood.
There are also psychedelic tracks to be found, like "Sex, beatific night, magma
mother lights", maybe the best track on this CD, very relaxed, very cool, very
stoned! Also worth mentioning is "Tripscapes", a midtempo groove monster
with hit potentional. The chorus won`t go out of your head for days!
This CD has all this kind of music needs, fast rockers, psychedelic trips,
absolute cool songtitles, but it`s a pity that the running time is so short, but I
think every CD player has a repeat button, and believe me, you will use it!
If you have got the chance to get this CD you ought to check it out!

Out The Jamss”, cuja versão ficou muito boa. Na oitava música, “Blues for a
parte de “EXP and the Masticathors of Frequencies” (a primeira parte esta na
of Frequencies. Use your imagination.........

EXP, tripped out stoner fuzz from Italy. The cd starts off with a little bit of
relaxation guidance, then busts into track 2. From there on it's a journey
through fuzzed out Rock n' Roll. There's 9tracks in about 29min. To fully enjoy
this disc, it should be listened to in it's entirety, while being stoned. They also
sent me some eyecandy, EXP posters! Very cool.

review by Stefano Cerati
Blues For A Guided Elephant in evidenza, oltre alla cover di Kick Out The Jams.

E.X.P. Pachamama 25 10 2002

E.X.P. - "Pachamama"
(Vincebus Eruptum/Vinyl magic 2002)
There is nothing wrong with your audio signal. Please do not attempt to adjust
your on-line frequency. Italian Fuzzrockers E.X.P. will control the audio. They
will also control the audio. For the next twenty-nine minutes, this smashing
outfit of psychedelic/bluesy hipsters will control all that you think and hear.
Chemical assistants welcome, but not required. You're in the hands of experts,
so to speak. Pachama will reach you through sound: "E.X.P.z and The
Masticators of Frequencies" is a fuzzy/psychedelic gem (Part one cranks it;
Part 2 is a spacey denoument); "Kick Out The Jamss" salutes Motor City
seminal rockers MC5; and "Supavacuum Cleaner" and the "Atomic Mushroom
Eaters" sucks your cerebral hemispheres out through the nasal septum,
irradiates the pulpy mass in a fast neutron flux, fries it up real good, then fires
it right back at you at mach 3... They'll hold your attention through song titles:
(see above for examples) And they'll take your eyeballs for a polychromatic
spin: two enclosed posters depict luscious death-metal maidens, a battalion of
anacondas, and plenty of good 'ole fashioned fire, amongst other goodies. And
these guys have the audicity to intro this classically (Zeppelin, Sabbath, et al)
sonic grab-bag with a relaxation tape segment! Well, I never... A musical force
since '97, going strong in 2002, Pachamama breaks no new musical ground,
but serves up a heaping, helping, hell, kickass serving of heavy, pungent
rhythms spanning the last thirty years. Disappointment is not an option. We
now return you to your regular A.I. program... For more information you

I am starting to approach releases that look like they could be "stoner" with

fact they cover an MC5 track
WHITE TRASH DEVIL
E.X.P. “Pachamama”
(VE rec 2002)
My first thought upon hearing the album was, "this disc feels kind of short."
Although the CD contains nine songs, the band is still referring to the effort as
an EP, making its half hour length acceptable. To be honest, I wasn't expecting
much when I popped the CD in. After the effective "hippy-dippy hypnosis tape"
intro, the EP begins moving forward quickly. "Supavacuumcleaner" is a nice
crunchy up tempo rock tune, and "E.X.P.'z And...(Part I)" has a killer recurring
drum lead. Eventually everything else drops out, leaving the drums to jam by
themself. Lots of tom and bass drum work, and the song itself smokes. In fact,
the whole album is uniformly ass kicking. The tempos are mostly fast, but the
slower tunes "Tripscapes" and ""E.X.P.'z And...(Part II)" are just as good as
the up tempo stuff. "Sex Beatific Night Magmamother Lights" mixes the two
tempos well, with a slow build rising to an up tempo conclusion. The up tempo
stuff is reminiscent of Nebula's up tempo rockers, like "Clearlight", "You Mean
Nothing", and "Full Throttle". The guitar sound is similar, but the vocals are
better here. The guitar work on Pachamama is really nice. There are some neat
little flourishes (the slide guitar on "Hierbalarga" sticks out) that make me glad
I asked for the disc. The cover of "Kick Out The Jamss" gets the job done in an
admirably concise two minutes. No need to show off; just pound out a great
tune in a fashion befitting its content and intent. And they don't do the
overdone "Kick Out The Jamss, Motherfucker!" intro. Sometimes I wonder if
bands cover the song just to use the intro.
