Introduzione
Il brano si presenta come un unico movimento, rapido, febbrile. Viene tracciato un percorso ideale
che parte da una notte inquieta, piena di pensieri diversi che si succedono ed accavallano in una
sequenza non sempre logica, secondo rapporti e collegamenti segreti e inconsci. Dopo il momento
centrale di maggior raccoglimento (corrispondente all'ora più scura e intima - e fredda - della
notte), riprende il movimento incessante delle terzine iniziali, ma stavolta l'esito è differente: man
mano si dissipano le ombre, e un paesaggio luminoso si profila sempre più stagliato, fino alla luce
completa e accecante delle ultime battute. L'organico può anche non essere molto grande.
Introduction
The piece is presented as a single quick, fiery movement. A restless night starts the beginning of an
ideal train of different thoughts that follow on from each other and overlap in a sequence that is
not always logical, according to secret and unconscious relationships and connections. After the
central moment of utmost contemplation (corresponding to the darkest, most intimate and coldest
time of night), the incessant movement of the initial triplets resumes. Only this time the result is
different: the shadows gradually fade and a bright landscape stands out with increasing clarity until
the full, blinding light of the final beats. The orchestral components do not have to be very many.
Einleitung
Das Stück präsentiert sich als ein einziger, schneller, hektischer Satz. Ausgehend von einer
unruhigen Nacht voll verschiedenster Gedanken, die, nicht immer in logischer Reihenfolge, gemäß
geheimer und unbewusster Beziehungen und Verbindungen aufeinanderfolgen und sich
überschneiden, wird hier ein ideeller Verlauf umrissen. Nach dem zentralen Moment größter
Selbstbesinnung (der dem dunkelsten und intimsten – und kältesten -
Moment der Nacht
entspricht), wird die unaufhörliche Bewegung der Triolen vom Anfang wieder aufgenommen,
diesmal ist das Ergebnis aber anders: die Schatten lösen sich nach und nach auf und eine helle
Landschaft zeichnet sich immer stärker ab, bis zum vollen, blendenden Licht der letzten Takte.
Hierfür muss das Orchester nicht besonders groß sein.
