MONTEZUMA'S REVENGE
He came at the last minute, he saw and he
conquered ... but he also defeated
another, fearsome and persistent enemy,
the dreaded Montezuma's Revenge.
Chris Bush, from St.Paul, Minnesota,
was hit by a diabolical stomach bug all
over the Bristol weekend and perhaps that
spurred him to the chequered flag (and
the pits) for the Duke of York Trophy.
Bush won at Bristol two years ago
the same year he suffered an horrific crash at Hannover and still has the scars
to prove it
- and now he was back on
the winner's rostrum.
He was ony announced as a runner at
the last gasp, but he made the most of his
chance and stayed icely cool in a hectic
Mike Seebold had pulled out at the last
minute to race at Baltimore, and that left
one spare Budweiser boat... so Mark was
in like Flynn.
And a great job he made of it, too. He
finished third in his qualifying heat and
would have been second if he hadnt been
almost shoved into the dock wall.'He then
achieved fourth place in the final.
Well done. Mark. You should retire
some more often...
final.
So congratulations, Chris, and please
give our regards to Montezuma.

RETIRING IN STYLE
Congratulations, Mark Wilson, on your
retirement. The week before Bristol you
had had enough and the helmet was
hanging up
- forever. Finish.
Come Friday's practice day and who do
we see charging round the docks? Yes, he
was at
it
again.
