Christmas is the best of holy days. It is a brotherhood
and peace' sign. in the people. People hopes that the new
year will bring peace and will realize everyone's dreams.

Dear Santa,
I would like that you will donate to all the children united and serene families, where they can
grow up with tranquillity and love.
Give them health and obedience for giving happiness to their parents.
Give them small plays and christmas cakes too, so they will be surely happy. (From a 7 y. o.

TEMPO DI NATALE IN CITTA'
Christmas time in town
Thank God, it’s Christmas again!
Christmas is peace, serenity; it is staying
with people who we love; it is the smile
and the hope. Everything around us is
brightly, coloured and happy. Also Jesi,
our town, is full of lights and colours.
The most important ways such as Corso
Matteotti where our school is situaded,
are illuminated by bright arches.
In the Republic Square, the central square of Jesi, an enormous
Christmas tree rises up.
The shops all decorated, are crowded of people who look for
presents for their dear ones.

In the houses everybody decorates the
Christmas tree and prepares the
Christmas crib.
The crib has got an ancient tradition; it
goes back to the 13 th century when S.
Francesco from Assisi in 1223 wanted
to repeat the experience of the Jesus
birth, enriching the Christmas Mass
by a living crib.
We all wait for these feasts with anxiety.
During our Christmas holidays, after tons of
eaten stuff, we use to play games all
rogether, childrens and parents. Some are card
games ("Briscola", "Scopa" and so on) and
other are traditional games like "Tombola".
It's really funny !!!
The 31st of december is an
explosive party! Get ready for
the midnight dinner (called
"cenone" that sounds like "big
dinner") ...

Lately, the
6th
of
January... we celebrate
Epiphany, and we wait for
the "Befana"'s arrival, an
old and cute cute lady that
riding an old sweep brings
presents to the "good
guys" and carbon to the
"bad" ones

Since many years ago the 6th of
January
the
children
free
air-balloons with peace messages
from Jesi's main square.
The city musical band plays with
joyful
children'
voices
surroundings.
That is a way to remember that
our town repudiates the violence,
favors the brotherhood and the
respect between the people.

CHRISTMAS TIME ... GIFTS TIME
In the Christmas day everybody exchange
gifts. A particular flower is gived away.
They are called."Chrismas star".
We have realized objects to donate to our
families at school.

CHRISTMAS TIME ...
GIFTS TIME FOR
UNICEF
On Christmas 2006,
the children of 5th
class, F.Conti school
in Jesi, are very happy
because have adheved to
“Unicef
project:
ADOTTA
UNA
PIGOTTA”.
At school we made
many “Pigotte” dolls in
fabric, then we have
sold those so we have
helped to save may
children.
We have prepared our plan:
1) We designed the shape and the
dressed ones.
2) We wrote the identity card of
the pigotta: particular name,
characteristics, signs… and name
of the author
3) We made linguistic games with
the words "PIGOTTA" and
"UNICEF"…

The ’UNICEF (United Nations Children's Fund) is the
main world-wide organization that protect the rights and
the living conditions of infancy and the adolescence
You offer 20 ! and adopt one Pigotta. You guarantee
therefore to a child the vaccine against the six main
infectious diseases: poliomyelitis, diphtheria, pertussis,
measles, tetanus and tuberculosis.

We have dressed with pants and
mesh.
We have made some hundred.
We have worked a lot.
We have used of all: fabric,
paper and even tinplate.
We have been good, we are
resolutions to manufacture
them!!!

We are satisfied of our job
and we show it to all.
We invited the parents and the
grandparents.
We are grateful of their collaboration.
We celebrated the event eating sweet
typical christmas and singing in
chorus.
The song of the Zecchino
D' ORo “Lo scriverò nel
vento” has been adapted to
our gift.

CHRISTMAS TIME ... HOLIDAY TIME
The houses and city's roads are embellished with bright
decorations.
We decorated our school too. We created
laces and snow crystals. We made them
with paper and hanged them on the
windows.
We wrote, on windows words of wishes...
...and peace.

We decoreted a X-mas tree with balls created by us.
The last school day we made a party. We sang
togheter and we give wishes for a marry
X-mas and Happy new year.
Our Headmistress Mirella Mazzarini
celebrated with us.
We sang Italian, English, Spanish
songs.
