Participants from industry are welcome. 2nd International Conference on Nanotechnology based Innovative Applications for the Environment 24-27 September 2017 Rome, Italy
IN COLLABORATION WITH w w w . a i d i c . i t / n i n e 2 0 1 7 ABOUT THE CONFERENCE Following the success of the first edition held in 2016 NINE, the International Conference on Nanotechnology based INnovative applications for the Environment, will be back in 2017. NINE 2017 aims at presenting recent scientific and technical advances in the field of nanotechnology application to the environment protection, including characterization, monitoring, remediation of contaminated sites, and treatment of water, wastewater and residues. The Conference, organized by the Italian Association of Chemical Engineering (AIDIC) in collaboration with the Department of Chemical Materials Environmental Engineering (DICMA) of Sapienza, University of Rome, will be held in Rome, Italy, on 25‐28 September 2017. The venue of the Conference is the Congress Center Pallavicini‐
Rospigliosi, located in the very heart of Rome, near Trevi Fountain and Quirinale Palace. NINE 2017 welcomes contributions from researchers and engineers from academic and research institutions, as well as stakeholders from industry, presenting recent advances and new approaches on the application of nanotechnologies to the environment. Oral and poster sessions will take place, and each oral session will be introduced by a keynote speaker. KEY DATES PUBLICATION 15 January 2017 ‐ Abstract submission 15 February 2017 ‐ Abstract acceptance notice 30 April 2017 ‐ Full paper submission 31 May 2017 ‐ Full paper acceptance notice 30 June 2017‐ Registration deadline for authors to have the paper included into CET Volume and DOI publication The full set of accepted papers (in the form of short papers of maximum 6 pages) will be published in a Volume of Chemical Engineering Transactions. The quality of this publication is valued by ISBN & ISSN numbers, reference by SCOPUS and THOMSON REUTERS (ISI Web of Knowledge, conference proceedings) citation indexes. In addition each paper will be available online thanks to the DOI identification. Each paper in the Volume is covered by a copyright assigned to AIDIC Servizi S.r.l. Each paper will be evaluated for acceptance by at least two Peer Reviewers. ABSTRACTS SUBMISSION The official language of the Conference is English. Authors wishing to present a contribution are asked to prepare maximum one page abstract to be submitted ONLY by web‐
page to the Conference Secretariat http://www.aidic.it/ nine2017/ The deadline is 15 January 2017 The abstract must indicate the complete addresses and e‐mail of each author. Authors are also required to indicate the topic to which the abstract belongs. TOPICS The Conference will include the following topics: 1. Nanosensors and bio‐nanosensors for environmental characterization and monitoring 2. Nanomaterials for the environment 3. Nanostructured materials for advanced remediation processes 4. Nano‐based water and wastewater treatment processes 5. Membrane processes for the environment 6. Health and safety issues concerning nanomaterials 7. Nano‐based air depuration processes VENUE NINE2017 International Conference will be held at Palazzo Rospigliosi Via XXIV Maggio 43 00187 Rome ‐ Italy The building is located in the heart of downtown Rome, across from the Quirinale (official residence of the President of the Italian Republic). It was built in 1611 by Scipione Borghese, from a project drawnup by Vasanzio and Maderno. The interior was decorated by Guido Reni, Paul Bril, Orazio Gentileschi and other celebrated 17th century artists. Over the years, the building changed hands many times. After the Borghese family came Cardinal Guido Bentivoglio, Cardinal Mazarino and then, in 1704, the Rospigliosi‐Pallavicini family. During the 18th century ownership of Palazzo Rospigliosi Pallavicini was divided between the two branches of the family and only the portion assigned to the Rospigliosi family came down to the current owners. The building still houses two splendid private art galleries with works by Botticelli, Signorelli, Carracci and Guercino. It is still divided into several elements overlooking the central garden located in front of the main entrance, topped by an arcade and belvedere; while on the rear, the buildings added in the early 19th century create a pleasant atmosphere, with a series of small courtyards joined by pretty pathways. An ancient lily pond in the “secret garden” of the main building, decorated with period sculpture, closes the view from the elevated arcade.
