Lives and works in Paris
Alessandro Tinelli (born in Spoleto in 1981) is an Italian filmmaker and visual artist.
His work is a cross between documentary film, photography, and contemporary visual.
Alessandro Tinelli studied fine arts, photography and painting. In 2005 he was awarded an Artist-in-residence
in Fabrica, research and communication center of Benetton. His career started already in 2002 producing and
directing the video Sartoria for underground fashion brand Carpe Diem followed by solo and group
exhibitions around the world. In 2007 he moved to Japan and started a productive collaboration with
world-renowned flower artist Azuma Makoto. In 2009 he is filming “Mirror Stone” a documentary movie in
Okinawa followed by the Visual Island project, a collection of short videos on islands around the world
including Putuo Shan in China. Since 2012 he lives in Paris where he works on different collaborations in the
fashion industry such as Ziggy Chen, Damir Doma, L’Eclaireur and more.
