Call for Regatta
1. Organization
The Mariperman Trophy event is organized by the Naval Support and Experimentation Centre (CSSN)
in collaboration with the La Spezia Port Authority and under the high patronage of the Northern
Maritime Command and the La Spezia City Hall.
The Regatta organization is coordinated by the Gulf Sailing Clubs Commitee and managed by: the Erix
Sailing Club, the Italian Navy Sailing Section of La Spezia and the Italian Naval League (La Spezia
Section).
2. Location and Schedule
The sailing races will be in the outside harbor of the La Spezia Gulf according to the following
schedule:
 May 29th:
- from 10.00 boats could be moored at the Italia pier where they will be hosted until
June 1st;
- from 10.00 registration and Welcome Pack delivery;
- 20:00 Sailor Dinner – Italia pier;
 May 30th:
- Race (the start time will be indicated on the Race Istructions);
- 20.00: Boatswain Dinner;
 May 31st:
- Race (the start time will be indicated on the Race Instructions);
- Award Ceremony.
3. Admitted classes
The following classes are admitted to the race: ORC, 5.50, J24, Meteor
The Organizing Committee will have the right to constitute new groups within each class
depending on the number of registered boats.
4. Rules
During the races will be applied the rules as defined in the Race regulation in force, the offshore
sailing regulation will be considered Rule.
5. Advertising
Advertising is admitted according to the Class Rules.
ISAF Regulation 20 will be applied: Organizing Committee to identify the groups can provide
stickers and flags with the sponsor logo, stickers and flags to identify each group to show
according to following Race Istructions indications.
6. Registrations
In order to arrange the mooring plan, a first registration must be made no later than May 3rd

Registrations must be confirmed and completed, no later than 6 p.m. on 29th May, at
Organization secretary’s office.
The boats must present the following documents:




valid tonnage certificate copy;
valid 2015 F.I.V. cards (and their copies) of all crew members (for foreign competitors,
equivalent documents issued by national authorities);
third party insurance certificate of the boat (with extension to the races) and its copy, with a
minimum limit of liability of 1 million euro;
payment of the registration fee or receipt for payment by bank transfer.

Race Istructions
The Race Istructions will be available from 10 a.m. on May 29th 2015.
8. Awards and social events
The Challenge Mariperman, Trophy, perpetual and non-consecutive, is reserved to the first overall
among the ORC tonnage boats groups A and B in reunited classifications.
The winner of J24 Class will be awarded with the Challenger Ammiraglio Spagnoli Trophy,
kindly offered by Admiral Franco Spagnoli.
There will be also awards for the top three finishers in each class or group.
All competitors will participate in the draw that also this year will award rich prizes.
Each participating boat will receive a Montelupo Fiorentino pottery souvenir plate and custom Tshirts for all crew members.
10. Photographic and television rights
Competitors grant full right and permission to the Organizers to publish and/or broadcast by any
means, any photograph or filmed shooting of people or boats during the event, included but not
limited to, television commercials and all that can be used for their own editorial and advertising
purposes or for printed information.
11. Responsability
Competitors participate in the races entirely at their own risk. See 4 ISAF rule (Decision to
participate in the race). Organizing Authority doesn’t accept any liability for damages to
persons and property that occurred before, during and after the races.
12. Acknowledgements
The Naval Support and Experimentation Centre (CSSN), the Port Authority and the Gulf
Sailing Clubs Commitee express a special thanks to the Institutions for the contribution and the
availability demonstrated towards the Event and to the sponsors for their effective
collaboration.
