Eighty metres below you, the ice-cold glacier water roars through
the Massa Gorge and in front of you awaits a breathtakingly thrilling
experience in the form of a 124-metre walkway, gently swaying
back and forth - the Suspension Bridge Belalp - Riederalp is
guaranteed to make your adrenalin soar. On this route amid the
unique natural scenery surrounding the Great Aletsch Glacier,
hiking is really fun.
You used to be able to cross the Aletsch Glacier to reach Riederalp
from Belalp, but the retreat of the glacier has now made this
impossible. The suspension bridge built in 2008 has restored the
old link between the villages; this was all made possible thanks to
the kind cooperation of Pro Natura, WWF and the UNESCO World
Heritage Site Swiss Alps Jungfrau-Aletsch.
80 metri sotto di voi l‘acqua gelida del ghiacciaio, che scrosciando
si fa strada tra la Gola della Massa e davanti a voi 124 metri di
brivido, che vi fanno oscillare dolcemente avanti e indietro: quelli
del ponte sospeso Belalp - Riederalp, con aumento garantito dei
valori di adrenalina. Questo itinerario, in mezzo allo straordinario
scenario naturale del Grande ghiacciaio dell‘Aletsch, rende la
vostra escursione un‘avventura straordiniaria.
Se una volta per arrivare da Belalp a Riederalp si passava sul
ghiacciaio dell‘Aletsch, oggi questo non è piu possibile in quanto il
ghiacciaio si è ritirato. Nel 2008 è stato realizzato il ponte sospeso,
che ripristina il vecchio collegamento, il tutto in collaborazione con
Pro Natura, il WWF e il patrimonio mondiale dell‘UNESCO Alpi
Svizzere Jungfrau-Aletsch.
