Maria Cristina Monteverdi
Laureata in Scienze Forestali e Ambientali presso la Facoltà di Agraria dell'Università della
Tuscia di Viterbo (Italia) nel 1994, ha ottenuto un dottorato di ricerca nel 2004 in Ecologia
Forestale presso il Dipartimento per l'Innovazione nei sistemi Biologici, Agro-alimentari e
Forestali (DIBAF) dell’Università degli Studi della Tuscia Viterbo-Italia e l’Istituto di Biologia
Agroambientale e Forestale IBAF-CNR Porano (TR)-Italia. Titolo della tesi: “Intra-specific
adaptative traits to contrasting condition for water disponibility in Castanea sativa Mill.”
Relatore Giuseppe Scarascia Mugnozza (DIBAF Università della Tuscia), correlatore Dr.
Marco Lauteri (IBAF-CNR).
Attualmente Ricercatore presso il Consiglio per la Ricerca e la sperimentazione in
Agricoltura (Italy), Centro di Ricerca per la Selvicoltura (CRA-SEL), Lab. Risorse
Genetiche Forestali.
Ricercatore a tempo determinato presso il Dipartimento per l'Innovazione nei sistemi
Biologici, Agro-alimentari e Forestali (DIBAF) dell’Università degli Studi della Tuscia
Viterbo-Italia sotto la supervisione del Prof Prof. Paolo De Angelis sulle tematiche
Biorimediation (Phytoremediation and wetland) for the production of lignocellulosic
biomass for energy purposes and for environmental improvement” dal 1 luglio 2011 al 27
dicembre 2012.
Titolare di assegni di ricerca come PostDoc presso il Dipartimento per l'Innovazione nei
sistemi Biologici, Agro-alimentari e Forestali (DIBAF) dell’Università degli Studi della
Tuscia Viterbo-Italia, sotto la supervisione del Prof. Riccardo Valentini e Prof. Paolo De
Angelis sullo studio ecofisiologico di specie forestali per combattere la desertificazione, dal
1 ottobre 2004 al 30 giugno 2011.
Borsista presso l’Istituto di Biologia Agroambientale e Forestale IBAF-CNR Porano (TR)Italia, sotto la supervisione del Dott. Enrico Brugnoli e Dott. Marco Lauteri sullo studio di
tratti adattativi allo stress idrico in Castanea sativa Mill. e altre specie mediterranee, con
applicazione di tecniche isotopiche. L’attività è stata svolta dal 1997 al 2003.

City”. The project is funded by Ministry of Environment and Protection of Natural
Resources and National Institute for Foreign Trade ICE.
6. Italy-Israel cooperation project in R & D.“Identification of plant species and
technologies for fighting desertification and for CO2 sequestration” period 20042007. The project is funded by Ministry of Environment and Protection of Natural
Resources.
7. Italy-China cooperation project “Windust” period 2005-2006. The project is funded
by Ministry of Environment and Protection of Natural Resources.
8. Italy-Israel cooperation project in R & D “Harnessing the biodiversity of
Mediterranean plants for mitigating the effects of climate change and desertification”
period 2009-2010. The project is funded by Ministry of Environment and Protection
of Natural Resources.
9. Italy-Algeria project “Estimation of potential carbon sequestration of oasis
ecosystem in Algeria” – I face (2007) - II face (2008). The project is funded by
Ministry of Environment and Protection of Natural Resources.
10. Italy - Algeria Project “DESERTFOR” – III face (2009-2010). National Institute for
Foreign Trade ICE , and Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
