INDIVIDUAZIONE DI ACCELEROGRAMMI DI PROGETTO MEDIANTE ANALISI DI HAZARD Prof. Ing. Tomaso Trombetti Dott. Ing. Stefano Silvestri Dott. Ing. Magnitudo c. Distanza dall’epicentro d. “Epsilon” e. Caratteristiche “near fied” o “far field” II. Caratteristiche riguardanti i records nearfield: a. Direzione longitudinale b. Direzione trasversale c. Direzione verticale d. Gruppo di sismi RISULTATI DELLA COMPARAZIONE T=0.50 s Oscillatore II-1 RISULTATI DELLA COMPARAZIONE PGA vs {PGA,PGV}, Po=50% over 50 years, Messina 0.30 0.25 PGA: mean + dev.std {PGA,PGV}: mean + dev.std PGA vs {PGA,PGV}, Po=10% over 50 years, Messina 0.80 0.70 PGA: mean + dev.std {PGA,PGV}: mean + dev.std 0.60 0.20 0.50 Sa [g] 0.15 Sa [g] 0.40 0.30 0.10 0.20 0.05 0.10 0.00 0.00 0.25 0.50 0.75 1.00 1.25 1.50 1.75 2.00 Period [s] 0.00 0.00 0.25 0.50 0.75 1.00 1.25 1.50 1.75 2.00 Period [s] 1. PGA PGA & altro… Giada Gasparini Napoli, 02 febbraio 2006 Statistical Characterization of the Seismic Action in terms of PGA and PGV: Comparison of Two Methods of Calculation CLAUDIO CECCOLI TOMASO TROMBETTI STEFANO SILVESTRI GIADA GASPARINI SCOPE OF THE WORK • In this research work, we propose two methodologies for the computation of the probability functions (CDF and PDF) of the peak ground acceleration (PGA) and peak ground velocity (PGV) at a specific site, over a given observation time, which are specifically developed for the Italian territory but can be extended to any other country. • In addition to the methodology which has been just described and which provides the CDF of the PGA, by making use of a closed form solution through the treatment as a continuous variable of the distance R between the site of interest and the epicenter (methodology C), • another methodology will be here presented for the determination of the CDF of the PGA for the Italian territory which makes use of a, more common, discrete (numerical) solution (methodology D). INTRO KNOWHOW IDEA THEORY ALGORITHM RESULTS PRESENTATION • Brief description of the two methodologies: – Methodology C = continuous treatment of the distance R – Methodology D = discrete treatment of the distance R • Results obtained for specific Italian sites regarding: – the CDF of the PGA with methodology D – the CDF of the PGV with methodology D – the CDF of the PGV with methodology C INTRO KNOWHOW IDEA THEORY ALGORITHM RESULTS BASIC ASSUMPTIONS VALID FOR BOTH METHODOLOGIES • SEISMIC CATALOGUE • SEISMIC ZONATION NT4.1.1 (GNDT, 1997) ZS4 (GNDT, 1996) Gutenberg - Richter (1954) • RECURRENCE LAW • COMPLETENESS ANALYSIS Mulargia - Tinti (1987) • ATTENUATION LAW • SEISMIC EVENTS Curva cumulativa dei sismi per tutto il territorio italiano per Ms40-45 . 1050 1000 950 900 850 800 Sabetta - Pugliese (1987) Poisson Processes Numero cumulato di sismi 750 700 650 600 550 500 x λ⋅t - λ ⋅2t 2 0,5 Logλ(Ms)=a-b·Ms LogA=-1,845+0,363·Ms-Log(R P X= x = ⋅e +5 ) +0,195·s x! 450 400 350 300 250 200 150 100 50 ⎡ ⎢ ⎢⎣ ⎤ ⎥ ⎥⎦ ⎛ ⎜ ⎜ ⎝ ⎞ ⎟ ⎟ ⎠ 0 1000 1050 1100 1150 1200 1250 1300 1350 1400 1450 1500 1550 1600 1650 1700 1750 1800 1850 1900 1950 2000 Anno INTRO KNOWHOW IDEA THEORY ALGORITHM RESULTS METHODOLOGY C: CONTINUOUS APPROACH Assimilates the occurrence of seismic events to Poisson Processes Adopts the Gutenberg-Richter recurrence law PDF of MS: f MS ( ms ) = aˆ ⋅ bˆ ⋅ t ⋅ e Divides each Seismo-Genetic Zone in J sub-areas of circular shape, annular shape, or sectors PDF of R: − bˆ⋅ms ˆ ˆ − b ⋅ ms − a ⋅t ⋅ e 2r fR ( r ) = 2 2 rmax − rmin Attenuation law: PGA = g(MS,R) given g = g(X,Y) with X,Y= random variables, it is possible to obtain PDF of g PDF of PGA due to the contribution of all J sub-areas: J f PGA ( pga ) = ∑α j ⋅ j =1 INTRO KNOWHOW rmax j ∫ rmin j 2⋅r − ( K1 +1) − K 2 ⋅ pga − K1 K1 ⋅ K 2 ⋅ pga dr ⋅e 2 2 rmax j − rmin j IDEA THEORY ALGORITHM RESULTS METHODOLOGY D: DISCRETE APPROACH Assimilates the occurrence of seismic events to Poisson Processes Adopts the Gutenberg-Richter recurrence law PDF of MS: f MS ( ms ) = aˆ ⋅ bˆ ⋅ t ⋅ e − bˆ ⋅ ms − aˆ ⋅t ⋅ e− b⋅ms ˆ Divides each Seismo-Genetic Zone (ZS) in J sub-areas of rectangular shapes R = Rj = cost for each sub-area Attenuation law: PGA = g(MS) PDF of PGA due to the contribution of all J sub-areas: J − K 2 j ⋅ pga − K1 − ( K1 +1) 1 2j j j =1 f PGA ( pga ) = ∑α ⋅ K ⋅ K ⋅ pga INTRO KNOWHOW IDEA THEORY ⋅e ALGORITHM ALGORITM RESULTS METHODOLOGY D: FRECHET PDF The PDF of the PGA of the sub-area j is: f PGAj ( pga ) = K1 ⋅ K 2 j ⋅ pga − ( K1 +1) ⋅e − K 2 j ⋅ pga − K1 The “Type II Largest Value” PDF is: K fY ( y ) = V ⎛V ⎞ ⋅⎜ ⎟ ⎝ y⎠ K +1 ⋅e ⎛V ⎞ −⎜ ⎟ ⎝ y⎠ K = K ⋅V ⋅ y K ⎧⎪ K = K1 one obtains that By posing: ⎨ K1 ⎪⎩V = K 2i ( − K +1) ⋅e −V K y − K f PGAj ( pga ) is a FRECHET distribution INTRO KNOWHOW IDEA THEORY ALGORITHM RESULTS METHODOLOGY D: NUMERICAL EXAMPLES OF FRECHET PDF INTRO KNOWHOW IDEA THEORY ALGORITHM RESULTS METHODOLOGY C: ZONE SUBDIVISION v2 VII • The Seismo-Genetic Zone where the site isVlocated ... is divided in circular sectors centered at the site V...
