NORME PER GLI AUTORI
La Rivista pubblica contributi originali nelle sue tre sezioni: a) rassegne; b) articoli originali; c) comunicazioni brevi.
Rassegne. Sono considerate per la pubblicazione rassegne su temi specifici purché abbiano le caratteristiche della completezza, siano
centrate su argomenti di attualità e apportino un contributo nuovo ed originale alla conoscenza dell’argomento.
Articoli originali. Vengono pubblicati articoli di carattere clinico e/o sperimentale attinenti a soggetti di interesse psichiatrico. Non vengono pubblicati studi sul caso singolo o su casistiche limitate che non siano conformi ai requisiti metodologici, clinico-sperimentali e statistici accettati dalle riviste internazionali del settore. La presentazione dei dati degli articoli originali dovrà essere conforme alla metodologia di
esposizione accettata nelle riviste di psichiatria a diffusione internazionale (es.: Archives of General Psychiatry, American Journal of Psychiatry, British Journal of Psychiatry e analoghi). La lunghezza consigliata è di 15 pagine dattiloscritte a spazio due, escluse figure, tabelle e
bibliografie. La bibliografia dovrà essere redatta in base alle norme riportate successivamente. Tabelle e figure dovranno essere ridotte all’essenziale al fine di rendere comprensibile il testo.
Comunicazioni brevi. La Rivista pubblica anche brevi rapporti, di lunghezza non superiore a 3 pagine dattiloscritte a spazio due, relativi a studi clinici e sperimentali di particolare interesse ancora in fase di esecuzione.
Norme bibliografiche. Ad ogni voce bibliografica riportata al termine del lavoro dovrà corrispondere un riferimento numerico nel testo. Es.: «Sono state messe in evidenza, nella depressione endogena, modificazioni del ritmo circadiano del cortisolo (12-14) e mancata risposta al test di soppressione al desametasone (15,16)». Le voci bibliografiche vengono riportate alla fine dell’articolo nel loro ordine progressivo di citazione nel testo, a prescindere dall’ordine alfabetico. Per quanto riguarda gli articoli pubblicati in riviste la relativa voce bibliografica deve essere riportata nel modo seguente:
1) Cognome dell’Autore ed iniziale del nome senza punto. Nel caso di più Autori vanno riportati tutti i cognomi e le iniziali del nome di ciascuno.
2) titolo dell’articolo.
3) titolo della rivista, per esteso.
4) nell’ordine, anno di pubblicazione, numero del volume, pagina iniziale e pagina finale.

Per quanto riguarda la citazione di libri, la relativa voce bibliografica deve essere così riportata:
1) Cognome dell’Autore ed iniziale del nome. Nel caso di più Autori, riportare cognome ed iniziale del nome di ciascuno. Se il libro è costituito dal contributo di più capitoli di autori diversi, indicare, tra parentesi (a cura di) o (ed).
2) titolo del libro.

Per quanto riguarda la citazione di capitoli in libri, occorre indicare nel seguente ordine:
1) Cognome e iniziale del nome dell’Autore o degli Autori del capitolo citato.

3) cognome e iniziale del nome dell’Autore o degli Autori che hanno curato il volume, seguiti dal termine (a cura di) o (ed) tra parentesi.
4) titolo del libro.

Figure e grafici. I grafici devono essere disegnati con inchiostro di china su cartoncino bianco opaco, con tecnica professionale. Sono ammesse fotografie del grafico originale. Le figure devono essere numerate sul retro in ordine progressivo, e riportare sempre sul retro il nome
dell’Autore. Ogni figura deve avere una didascalia illustrativa. Tutte le didascalie devono essere battute su un foglio a parte in ordine progressivo.
Tabelle. Le tabelle, numerate in ordine progressivo con numeri arabi dovranno essere battute ciascuna in un foglio a parte allegato al
testo. Eventuali didascalie esplicative dovranno essere battute in ordine progressivo su un foglio a parte.
Riassunti. Per ogni lavoro originale l’Autore deve allegare un riassunto in italiano, di lunghezza non superiore alle 250 parole divise in
4 sezioni: scopo, metodi, risultati, discussione e relativa traduzione inglese, comprensivo anche della traduzione del titolo del lavoro e delle
parole chiave in italiano e in inglese.
Manoscritti. Sono richieste due copie di ogni lavoro con relativo dischetto. La prima copia deve riportare le figure nella loro forma originale, la seconda copia può riportare le illustrazioni in fotocopia. Ogni lavoro deve riportare la firma dell’Autore, l’indirizzo completo e l’Istituto di appartenenza. La Redazione si riserva il diritto di apportare modificazioni al testo dei lavori e ai relativi riassunti, le variazioni che
essa ritenga opportune ed eventualmente ridurre il numero delle illustrazioni. I lavori inviati per la pubblicazione devono essere inviati alla

INSTRUCTIONS TO AUTHORS
Rivista di psichiatria publishes original contributions in any field concerned with psychiatry, including psychosomatics, psychoneuroendocrinology, psychoneuroimmunology, psychodynamics, cybernetics and informatics relating to psychological processes or diseases, psychiatric epidemiology,
and genetics, biochemistry, pharmacology, nosography and treatment of psychiatric disorders, in order to contribute to the advancement of psychiatric
and other related sciences. Papers published in this journal may be either reviews of major interest or original studies. The latter may be clinical or experimental and should be of sufficient sample size to guarantee appropriate statistics. Studies with poor statistics will be rejected. Single-case studies
will be accepted only if the case described is of particular interest and is preceded by a thorough review of the possible mechanisms leading to the described clinical picture. Writing style should be as concise and clear as possible.

The manuscript should be accompanied by a letter of transmittal to the Editor. This letter should be signed by the author for correspondence
and should bear the author’s complete address and institution.
Rivista di psichiatria publishes reviews, original articles and short communications. Papers should be written in Italian or English. The text should
be typewritten with double-spacing on one part of the paper only. Short summaries in both Italian and English, not exceeding fifteen lines each, should
be provided on separate sheets (the title of the paper should also be translated); on the same sheets, key words should be given in both Italian and English. Another sheet should bear the name(s) and affiliation(s) of the author(s), as well as a footnote with the address of the author for correspondence, to whom reprint requests should be made. References should be given for every possibly controversial statement. Figures and Tables should be
essential to the comprehension of the text; redundant Figures and Tables are to be avoided.
Reviews. This will accept one review per number. The paper should be divided into sections as the author considers appropriate. The suggested
number of pages (excluding Tables, Figures and References) is about 25. The paper should be thoroughly referenced.
Original articles. In this section, clinical and/or experimental papers of psychiatric interest are published. Generally, paper in this section should
be subdivided into the following clearly indicated sections: Introduction, Materials (or Subjects) and Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusions, References. Each section may be further subdivided into sub-sections (for example, Aims, Statistical analysis, Psychometric tests, etc.). Suggested paper
length, excluding Tables, Figures and References, is 15 pages.
Brief communications. In this section, work in progress (preliminary results or rapid communications of particular interest) as well as case-studies may be included. Suggested papaer length (excluding Figures, Tables and References) is three pages.
References should be progressively cited in the text and reported under the heading References according to the following examples: Paper in a

Unpublished material should be quoted with the author(s) name within the text as personal communication and should not be given a reference number. Manuscripts not yet published but accepted for pubblication should be cited normally and bear every available information followed by
in press.
Figures and drawings. Figures should be referred to in the text progressively and given Arabic numerals. Their approximate place within the text
should be indicated by
- Fig. X about here Original figures and drawings should be glossy prints (all photographs) or drawn in black ink on white paper with large lettering to allow for reduction (drawings). Every figure should bear figure number, authors and manuscript title, and the indication TOP at the top of the rverse side of the
glossy print or drawing, marked with a pencil. For all figures, separate legends should be provided on a separate sheet.
Tables. They should be numbered in Arabic numerals and provided with a short descriptive title. Their approximate place within the text should
be indicated by

PROOFS, REPRINTS AND PAGE CHARGE
One set of proofs will be sent back to the author for correction of possible errors. No alteration of substance to the text, tables or legends, or figure substitution will be allowed. Sixteen printed pages (four, for a brief communication) are published free of charge. additional pages and Figures
are printed at the authors’ expense. Tables are charged with € 36 per printed page. Reprint order forms will be sent to the author with the proofs.
Manuscripts not accepted for pubblication will not be mailed back to the author(s).
