Pfeffermühle mit kulinarischer Attraktion
Spirit of dance
Was bruzzelt da am heißen Stein?
Unterhaltung in Gang gebracht.
Urlaubserinnerungen schwelgen.

uring his lifetime , the
song writer and dancer Michael
Jackson was one of the most
successful musicians in the history of music. Still being a child
and singing in a family band
“Jackson Five” he advanced to a
super star, and in 1982 with his
solo album “Thriller” (still the best
sold album ever, more than 109
millions of records were sold), Michael Jackson became the King
of Pop. The artist who received
13 Grammy awards and sold altogether about 750 million discs
is still, and will always remain, in
the hearts of his fans and in the
international music collections
“The Best of Pop”.

The idea to give a tribute to
Jacko, the way his fans called
him, was born long before the
tragic events of July 25, 2009
have shaken the whole world. In
2008 Barbara Molnar, the founder and the president of Tanzverein Kitzbuhel, decided to do a
dance show, which would refresh
the bohemian life of Kitzbuhel.
The show was supposed to be
dedicated to Michael Jackson,
and the highlight of it would be
the presence of the King of Pop
in person. At that time nobody
could imagine that very soon Michael Jackson, who was only 50,
would be gone forever. After July
25 the idea of the show gained
a deeper meaning, and became
even more actual. The best choreographers from the USA, the
Netherlands, Austria and Germany were engaged for working on
the show. All dancer training for
the performance wanted to express their passion for the great
art of the pop legend. As a result,
more than 150 people, children

“Spirit of Dance”, “Classic Skills
Fieberbrunn” and the dancers
of Tanverein Kitzbuhel presented “They don’t care about us”,
“Dirty Diana”, “Thriller”, “Black

and many other hits in high-quality dance scenes. The two-hour
long show consisted of 21 number. There were brake dance and
ballet numbers, jazz and modern

dance scenes. Special effects,
lights and amazing costumes
added a lot to the atmosphere
of the performance. In “Thriller”,
for example, each dancer had
his own self-made zombi-suit

sold for the two nights. Kitzbuheler Anzeiger newspaper and Tirol
TV payed a high tribute in their
reports to the emotional charge

of the show and to its professional level.
After the phenomenal success
of “A Tribute to Michael Jackson”
show, Spirit if Dance was inspired
by the idea of creating a “A Tribute to Madonna” dance show. The
preparations already take place,
and the performances are scheduled for April 9 and April 10, 2011
in Kulturhaus Reith bei Kitzbuhel.

urante la sua vita,il
compositore e ballerino Michael

migliori coreografi degli Stati Uniti
, di Olanda,Austria e Germania
furono ingaggiati per lavorare allo
show.

TRAVIS PAYNE
T
ravis Payne dreams began when he joined the Harrison Dance
company under the direction of Gary Harrison before moving to
Los Angeles where he soon met longtime personal idols Kenny
Ortega, Michael Peters, Debbie Allen, and Paula Abdul.
Payne’s big break came at the age of 19 after he created a dance
video of himself which helped him land his first major gig as part of
Janet Jackson’s Rhythm Nation 1814 World Tour.
From the moment he performed on stage, his talent for dancing
was obvious and immediately started fielding offers to work with
Prince, Debbie Allen, En Vogue, TLC, and Michael Jackson on his
Dangerous World Tour.
In May 2009, Payne started to work with Michael Jackson
and Kenny Ortega on This Is It which was a sold-out series of fifty
concerts by Jackson to be held at The O2 Arena in London. These
were Jackson’s first significant concert events since the HIStory

World Tour in 1997 and had been cited as one of the year’s most important musical events, with over one million people attending in total.
Unfortunately, the concert series was canceled due to Jackson’s untimely demise.
On July 7, 2009, Payne helped choreograph the Michael
Jackson memorial service at the Staples Center in Los Angeles which
was broadcast live around the world, from the U.S. to Slovakia to parts
of Asia, with an estimated one billion viewers. Following the months after Jackson’s passing, Payne worked very closely with Ortega to piece
together rehearsal footage from Michael Jackson’s This Is It which was
put together from rough footage recorded at the Los Angeles Forum
and the Staples Center. Subsequently, the film was released worldwide
with a limited two-week theatrical run from October 28, to November
12, 2009.
To round out the year, he traveled to Japan to work with SMAP and
choreograph a Michael Jackson Tribute which was aired on TV for the
New Year’s Eve special.
In January 2010, Payne embarked on a peace tour and arranged a surprise visit to the Cebu province of the Philippines to work
with the dancing inmates of the Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center (CPDRC), a maximum security that is also featured in
32
Spirit of dance
the Michael Jackson Opus. Famous for their “Thriller” which
received 300,000 views per day at its peak, the video has
received over 37 million reported views and is considered
one of the most viral videos viewed on the internet.
In April 2010, Payne was honored by The Michael
Jackson Tribute Portrait, the largest Michael Jackson tribute
in the world, endorsed by the Jackson Family Foundation.
The tribute is an interactive work of art by artist David Ilan,
which is made from one million hand drawn dots. Friends
and family of Jackson’s get a dot in their name in the area
of Jackson’s heart.
In a lately interview Travis spoke about the way of work with
Michael: “We were always that close knit. You just sort of
gravitate to Michael. You just want to be near him and he
was so welcoming and open and loving and nurturing that
it was very easy to. He made himself available. I think that
these walls had to go around him because people did not
allow him to have a normal existence. But once he was in
34
his own sort of space, he was just a guy in love with his
art.
I would love for people to remember Michael for his caring
– the fact that he cared so deeply about so many different
people in the world, many of whom he didn’t even know.
He just knew that someone somewhere was suffering so
that was enough for him to be concerned about it. People
know of his charitable contributions, but I don’t know how
many people know that he still to this day holds the record
for the most charitable contributions by any celebrity or
any one person. I think that he should be remembered
as just a really gentle giant. He was huge and immensely
talented but never took credit for his talent.
I hope that after seeing the film the audience will feel a
sense of responsibility and accept the challenge of trying to affect some positive change on the planet because
ultimately that was his main reason for returning to the
stage.
Spirit of dance
I think Michael Jackson has created a language
and a style all his own. I mean like the greats that
have come before him like Bob Fosse and Baryshnikov who he admired so much. I think that he’s
contributed immense amounts to dance over the
years and I think he will continue to. You see his
spirit woven through contemporary artists that we
see all the time as well as I’m sure no doubt a lot
of people we’re going to see. I think he’d be happy
about it. He enjoyed it. He took it as flattery. He enjoyed it. He enjoyed seeing people do the moves
around the world and emulate him. He loved it because he knew he was connecting with them.”

Nureyev

R
Accede all’Accademia
di Ballo di Viganova, aggregata al Kirkov
di Leningrado soltanto nel 1955, ad un’età
usualmente considerata troppo avanzata
A Vienna, dove si esibisce all’International
Youth Festival, i suoi comportamenti liberi
a rimpatriarlo.
Mikhail Gorbacev, viene invitato a tornare

Danimarca.

“Finché i miei
Chisciotte” e numerose altre partecipazioni
a film e alla serie televisiva The Muppet
Dopo i quarant’anni cominciò

Niente
audizioni, solo impegno e intime soddisfazioni.
era stare lì e rendere i miei muscoli parole e
io imparavo a danzare e danzavo perché mi

NINE plot
It is 1965, and at the famous Cinecittà movie
studios, in Rome, ‘everyone has questions for
Signor Contini.’ Guido Contini (Daniel DayLewis) is a gifted Italian filmmaker who, at the
age of fifty, has developed writer’s block and
urges all the women in his life, alive and dead,
to help him with it.
Guido Contini is ten days away from the start
of principal filming of his latest movie, ambitiously titled “Italia”. The general speculation by
anyone who has followed production, including
the press, is that Guido has lost his creative
vision and that this production will go the way
of his last two films: be a flop. The first part of
that statement is indeed true as Guido not only
does not yet have a script, but he has no idea
for the movie at all. Guido escapes to a seaside resort to convalesce and get away from all
the pressures of this production, this convalescence only to moderate success as he thinks
about the women who have shaped his life.
He desperately searches for answers and
inspiration from his wife Luisa, his mistress
Carla, his muse Claudia, and his mother. But
his chaotic profession steadily destroys his
personal life and his relationships. He finally
comes to terms with his mental block (“I Can’t
Make This Movie”), realizing that he’s lost everything: his wife, his muse, his talent, and has
nothing to make the movie.
Each and every one of the ladies adds to Guido’s enigma... and how to put the pieces back
together so he can direct another movie.
