king who will rule in the line of David and with the strength of
God will come forth from Bethlehem. The Church identifies this

Friends of St. Francis
Are you a proud pet parent? Are you
interested in sharing your joy with the
rest of the parish? St. Norbert’s Parish
will be adding a link to the parish
website and needs your input. ‘Friends of St. Francis’ will
be introduced soon and will have ‘pet biographies’, a
‘congratulations corner’, a ‘pet news spot’, ‘upcoming pet
events in the city’, and more! We’re even thinking of
organizing monthly ‘petogethers’ so pets and their
families can share coffee and news in person – er, in pet.
And . . you don’t have to know how to use a computer to
get started. Just drop a handwritten note to the parish
office with your name and phone number, and email
address if you have one, and you’ll be contacted so we
can get your pet(s) on the website. If you’d rather contact
me directly, please email me at
[email protected]. Just in time for St. Francis of
Assisi Day on October 3.
Accordingly, today’s Gospel passage brings into focus the
coming of Christ in human flesh, as proclaimed by John the
Baptist.
The Church teaches that Jesus, who was born into the world
through the Virgin Mary, is both divine and human. A perfect
unity between God and humankind has been achieved in the
person of Jesus. God has been revealed to us through Jesus.
The Church affirms the sacredness of life, based among other
Bible passages on Jeremiah 1:5: “Before I formed you in the
womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated
you”.
The late Pope John Paul II wrote: “Human life finds itself most
vulnerable when it enters the world and when it leaves the
realm of time to embark upon eternity”.
Part of our preparation to meet the Lord, this fourth Sunday of
Advent let us say a Hail Mary, which mentions these two
vulnerabilities, our entrance into the world (“fruit of your
womb”) and our departure (“at the hour of our death”), and
always remember to value and protect life, born and unborn.

Gerusalemme (2Sam 6,1-11).

CHRISTMAS QUOTES

Once again, we come to the Holiday Season, a
deeply religious time that each of us observes, in
his own way, by going to the mall of his choice.

He who has not Christmas in his heart will never
find it under a tree.

Every gift which is given, even though small, is in
reality great, if it is given with affection.

Unless we make Christmas an occasion to share
our blessings, all the snow in Alaska won't make
it 'white'.
