ANTICIPAZIONI GARA
//LA PISTA (6,968 km)
Spa è uno dei circuiti più belli in Europa, una delle poche piste definite "della vecchia
generazione" ancora in vita senza che abbia subito delle modifiche radicali. La pista
immersa nel verde delle Ardenne infatti, mantiene praticamente intatte le
caratteristiche tecniche del circuito originario (che era lungo circa 14 km) rendendolo
eccitante, sotto il profilo tecnico, dal primo all'ultimo metro, ricco di punti tecnici in
grado di fare emergere la differenza tra un buon pilota ed un fuoriclasse. Chi è un
appassionato di automobilismo non può non "emozionarsi" al passaggio delle vetture
all'Eau Rouge o al Radillon e "sentire" chi lo affronta in pieno. Non è però solo l’Eau
Rouge-Radillon che permette ai piloti di segnare il miglior tempo. Spa, infatti, presenta
una parte centrale decisamente interessante, caratterizzata da una sequenza di
curvoni veloci in appoggio intervallati da brevi rettilinei. Questa seconda trance è forse
la più tecnica e richiede al pilota una guida particolare per evitare di finire in
testacoda. Dopo il misto, all'uscita della insidiosa Stavelot, si ritorna nella storia, e
precisamente nel suggestivo rettilineo nel bosco delle Ardenne: il Blanchimont che
porta alla Bus Stop, chicane dove i piloti sfiorano sempre il muro in uscita. Ma il gran
premio del Belgio è famoso anche per le condizioni metereologiche - molto variabili che spesso regalano ai piloti tratti bagnati e tratti asciutti.

//BMS Scuderia Italia VINCE la 24 Ore di Spa (2004)
Il 2004 ha rappresentato per la BMS Scuderia Italia un anno ricco di grandi soddisfazioni.
In una stagione, dominata sin dalla prima gara, la squadra si è laureata CAMPIONE del
Campionato FIA GT con un totale di 159,5 punti contro i 72 del secondo classificato. Nel
2004 la BMS ha anche VINTO la 24 Ore di Spa raccogliendo, solo in quella gara, 30,5
punti!

RACE PREVIEW
//THE TRACK (6,968 km)
Spa is one of the most attractive world championship circuits, one of those "old-time"
tracks that have never undergone any radical modifications. Set in the green hills of the
Ardennes the track retains more or less all the technical features of the original circuit
(which was about 14 kilometres long). That means it is very exciting from start to finish
and its highly technical layout is capable of really highlighting the difference between a
proficient driver and a champion. Racing enthusiasts cannot but be thrilled as cars take
the Eau Rouge or Radillon and feel they are in there with the drivers as they tackle this
terrifying dip flat out. Obviously, it is not only Eau Rouge-Radillon which allows drivers to
set fast times. The central part of the Spa circuit is intriguing too and characterised by a
sequence of fast, swooping corners and short straights. This second stretch is probably
the most technical, since it demands special driving skills to avoid spinning (and running
fairly low levels of downforce can complicate matters). After the mixed stretch coming
out of the treacherous Stavelot, we go back in history to the evocative straight in the
Ardennes woods - Blanchimont - leading to the Bus Stop, the chicane where drivers
always come to within a hair's breadth of the wall as they accelerate out. SpaFrancorchamps is also famous for its unsettled weather conditions, which often present
drivers with wet and dry sections over a track almost seven kilometres long.

//BMS Scuderia Italia WINS the 24 Hours of Spa (2004)
2004 represented a rich year for BMS Scuderia Italia team that completed the season
leading the Championship since the first race and finishing victoriously as FIA GT
CHAMPION with 159,5 points on second classified (72 total points). That year BMS took
also a brilliant victory at the 24 Hours of Spa achieving 30,5 points only in that race!!
