Lago Maggiore is the second largest lake in Italy, 64 km long, offering annually more than 2000 hours
of sunshine and average temperature above 15°C. Five championship golf courses at a short distance
of only 25 km from each other are waiting for golfers. All of them could be reached after a short
drive, lasting for about 30 minutes from the Milan Malpenza airport.
As a starting point for our play

the Golf Club Castelconturbia.
In 2012 the best golf course in
Italy. Back in 1898 the
Couturbier Golf Club was the
only one in Piedmont, and one
of only two courses in Italy.
The present modern 27 holes
golf course designed by Robert
Trent Jones Sr. was opened in
1986 and hosted the Italian
Open in 1991 and 1998.
Record of 66 currently held by José Olazabal and Constantino Rocca. You can combine Blue (The
Chestnuts, 9 holes, par 36, 3145 m), Yellow (The Pines Course, 9 holes, par 36, 3085 m) or Red (The
Oaks Course, 9 holes, par 36, 3266 m) courses. All three nine holes finish in front of the clubhouse

Golf Club Varese has its clubhouse located in an ancient convent from XIIIth century, built by Magistri
Cumanici and the Benedictine
Sisters lived there up to the
XVth century. The present golf
course opened in 1934 on a
hilly
ground
offering
magnificent views of Mount
Rosa, lakes Maggiore, Varese
and Monate. Design by
Blanford-Gannon and DassuHarradine, par 72, 6105 m.

Golf Club Bogogno is located
just a few minutes from our
base at Castelconturbia. This
course designed Robert van
Hagge and opened in 1997.
Bogogno offers play on two 18
hole courses, par 72. Very
frequently we have admired
snow covered Monte Rosa. The
Del Conte course (6206 m) is
similar to links courses, with
water and rough and Bonora golf course (6284 m) to parkland courses.
