Getting Started
After entering the game, you’ll probably want to know what to do. If this is your first time playing
LOTRO, we suggest the following:
•
•

•
You initially start at the beginning of the newbie instance. Please note that this instance
does not yet have a comprehensive tutorial.
If you would like to disable the Tutorial alerts, press Ctrl-O and click UI Settings. Scroll to
the bottom and click the Disable Tutorial Hints checkbox.
Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the quest. Once you are finished, you will
automatically leave the newbie instance and find yourself inside the starter town.
Welcome to Middle-earth! Feel free to explore the early levels of the game. Solo or group
as you see fit. Do quests, explore – whatever you want.
