Caro lavoratore della Betafence Turchia,
Dear workers of Betafence Turkey,
non ci siamo mai incontrati, ma è come se ci conoscessimo.
Non parliamo la stessa lingua, ma non abbiamo difficoltà a comprenderci.
Facciamo lo stesso lavoro, e questo basta.
We’ve never met before, but in fact it seems that we know each other.
We do not speak the same language, but we don’t have problems to understand eachother.
We do the same job, and that’s enough.
Basta per sapere quali sono le tue preoccupazioni, le tue sofferenze, le tue ragioni.
Non sappiamo se avresti preferito che a prendere il potere fossero i militari, o sei dalla
parte dell’attuale governo.
It’s enough because we know your problems, your pain and your reasons. We cannot know if
you would have preferred that militaries seized power or if you agree with the actual
government instead.
A noi spaventano entrambe le posizioni.
Both of the positions frighten us.
Crediamo che prendere il potere con la forza delle armi, usando l’apparato militare per
sopraffare gli avversari, sia foriero di pessimi propositi.
Così come ci spaventa l’assurda e insensata violenta repressione che sta mettendo in atto
il governo che, di giorno in giorno, dimostra sempre di più quanto sia distante da principi
di democrazia e libertà.
We believe that seize power by force of arms, using the military establishment in order to
overcome opponents means herald worst intentions.
In the same time we are frightened by watching the foolish, senseless and violent repression
adopted by the government, showing in this way, day after day, how far away they are from
democracy and freedom.

E ci spaventa sapere che la vittima principale di questa tragica situazione sei tu e con te
tutte le lavoratrici ed i lavoratori che cercano di vivere del proprio lavoro. Non è un caso
se, nel tuo paese e ovunque nel mondo è in corso un processo di involuzione democratica,
le libertà sindacali stiano subendo un pesante ridimensionamento.
We are scared by knowing that in this tragic situation you all workers who simply try to provide
their subsistence from their own work are the main victims. It is no coincidence that, when in
your country or wherever all over the world we are witnessing a process of step backwards for
democratic development, the freedom and rights of worker unions are supposed to suffer
heavy downsizings.
Auspichiamo il ritorno al più presto ad una situazione di normalità degna di un paese civile
e, al contempo, chiediamo alla Betafence, così come a tutte le altre aziende, che nelle
scelte aziendali anteponga alla spasmodica e folle ricerca del profitto ad ogni costo, il
rispetto dei diritti umani, della democrazia e della libertà di lavoratrici e lavoratori.
We really wish a very quick return to normality, worthy to a civilized country. At the meantime
we ask Betafence, and all other companies, to place respect of human rights, democracy and
freedom of workers above spasmodic and mad pursuit of profits at all costs.
