Comment
According to tradition the Dioscuri appeared on this spot in 496 B.C. They swore an oath of allegiance
in 496 B.C. with the dictator Postumius after the battle of Lke Regillus. Dedicated in 484 B.C. by the
son of the dictator. Restored in 117 B.C. by Caecilius Metellus. Repaired by Verres. Rebuilt by Tiberius
in 6 A.D. (cf. history page) and dedicated in his name and that of his brother Drusus.
