Religious holidays in May by Daniele Guzzone Pag 5 FEAST OF ST. RITA T his year, exceptionally May 23 because the 22 day of the Trinity, it celebrated the Feast of St. Rita of Cascia in the Parish of St. Nicholas-Matrix Holy Saviour. As centuries-old devotion of the holy feast in Militello is deeply felt, many devotees including children, during the two Eucharistic celebrations in the morning and afternoon, for favors received or promised, wearing the dress same as the saint who are blessed. Another custom is to wear red roses to put in special vases and, once after the last Mass were brought, but given that the altar was left bare, the pastors that have followed have decided that roses once Santa brought to remain in their own altar; in my opinion correct observation. FEAST OF MARY HELP OF CHRISTIANS F or some years now it is celebrated on 23 (Christmas Eve) and May 24 (Feast), the Feast of Mary Help of Christians in the Church of Our Lady of the Spasm of Militello. The solemn celebration, organized by the Brotherhood Holy Mary Of Torment, began in the early morning with the firing of prejudice announcing the solemn day. The day continued with the celebration of the SS. Masses of 10:30 and 18:00, just after the celebration of the afternoon Mass, the statue of Mary Help of Christians was carried on shoulders in procession to the presence of the civil and military authorities towns, enlivened with music Musical Cultural Association " Master Ignazio Bono " Militello to some streets of the neighborhood, Carlo Alberto, Trento, Via Spasimo to conclude the churchyard with the show of fireworks performed by Enterprises Art Pyrotechnics of Trebbia Brothers. After the return of the statue of the Virgin, in the square below the Church of the boys "Cumpari Group and Cummari of Militeddu”, led by the tireless and exceptional person as the Master Donato Ciulla, enchanted with the typical Sicilian dances and songs of the hundreds of people who applauded the boys and all of the group members. The Cumpari Group and Cummari of Militeddu held many shows around Sicily bearing the name of our Militello, a thank you to him for all employees and especially to the organizing committee who strongly wanted this show to be realized. Commendable is the commitment of many faithful volunteers and the friendly neighborhood called "the Pascimari" who, with dedication and passion have brought to an excellent splendor not only the Feast of Our Lady but the whole church until a few years ago was in a state of disrepair. on the sidelines of what I wonder why not take the example of the friends of the Pang to resume our neighborhood churches left to themselves? I can only give you the good bye to 2017 ....... W Mary Help of Christians, the W Pascimari and W Militello !!!!!! SOLENNITA’ DEL CORPUS DOMINI S unday, May 29, 2016, was celebrated, one of the most important feast of the church or, Corpus Christi. This year the celebration took place in the Parish of St. Benedict the Abbot where in the afternoon we celebrated the Mass town the presence of civil and military authorities of the city. After the Eucharistic celebration began the procession through the main streets of the Body and Blood of Christ, the country with the presence of all the city including the brotherhoods of St. Benedict who participated in the procession with the new capes very attractive green color. A curiosity that I noticed during the procession, some years have been banned for the Corpus is the fireworks that band, but they felt from nearby Scordia on the shot noise of fireworks definitely for the release of Corpus. But the question arises: but Scordia belongs to another Diocese or that of Caltagirone? If there is a prohibition why you continue to do the same? Actually be a day of celebration processions are accompanied at least with the band and why not even the fireworks ......... .I want to be a pointed, but you want to understand why these differences exist between countries in the same diocese. The best moments of the feast Pg. 6 The activities of the St. Paul and Hotel spread Pg. 7 SAN PAOLO AND SCHOOL: MARRIAGE THAT WORKS !!! T hird appointment with animated Tales of Riccardo e Margherita, who this year proposed "ORANGES GOLD" Luigi Capuana. About 300 children in 2 dates and 4 shows (2 rounds on May 2 and May 9 other 2 shi s) were hosted by the property of Dr. Nicolò Romano and a ended enjoyed themselves and par cipate in the story of this young talented pair of actors able to tell and interact with all the young spectators in a truly unique way. Also on this occasion the a endees had the opportunity to raise pleasantly perfect harmony created between Center St. Paul and School, including children, teachers, pa%ents and staff. Meanwhile, although very slowly, it seems to be awarded the efforts made in recent years by the CTA St. Paul to bring their guests to the "sociability" rightly pursued, and that is one of the many objec ves of the Therapeu c Community. Given these small goals also reached the word "integra on" seems to be less strange than it has been for decades no way to go even if it remains so. Finally, I like to emphasize the Second Edi on of Children Drawing Contest "Fairy Tales in Show". Souvenir plates and coupons School will go to the authors of the first 3 classified drawings. Moreover, all the drawings produced by the children par cipa ng in the compe on will be exhibited at the City Library. Text e Photo by Paolo Ruggieri Militello in Walk Francigeni di Giuseppe Scirè Calabrisotto S unday, May 15 was held the eighth National Day of Walk Francigeni of Sicily, that will unfold according to various stages along a path that is leading many municipalities to sign memoranda of understanding for the reception and reporting Web site. At the initiative and involvement Avv. Salvo Liggieri and Dott.ssa Rita Di Trio, local managers "Militello Albergo Diffuso", Militello has joined the project, celebrating on this occasion as well as serving as a crossroads of religion and culture. And from this point of view, the beaut y of the baroque Militello who have already contributed to allow the inclusion in the UNESCO list, have certainly facilitated the resolution. The slogan subtitled in promotional f lyer reads: "Mettici manu e facciamo festa", promoting the desire to t ypical manifestation of this culture and sharing. The day began at 9:00 am with the unveiling of the plaques indicators (accompanied by special QR code) of the Via Francigena "Fabaria" (Agrigento - Lentini - Maniace) in via Matrix and in via Santa Maria la Vetere. At 11:00 we went to the Archeological Site of Santa Maria la Vetere for a guided tour that also included a photographic trekking urban and suburban. All this in the presence of hundreds of visitors organized in autonomous groups f locked to the occasion. The obvious success of the event, witnessed by the great reviews given by the first "pilgrims" on social and masterful shots executed on that occasion and who have permission to capture and highlight the relevant national architectural and artistic heritage.
