Visiting Rome and John Cabot University
John Cabot University is located just across the Tiber River from Rome’s historic centre in the Trastevere
neighbourhood, a vibrant neighbourhood with many historic sites, restaurants, bars and places to stay.
The university is accessible by public buses, trams, and regional trains (there are no metro stops near the
university). It is within walking distance of major historical monuments and museums.
John Cabot University has two campuses. All MES16 activities are being held at the Guarini Campus (Via

Where to stay
John Cabot University is within Rome’s historical centre and is accessible by foot from several
neighbourhoods including Gianicolo, Monteverde, Campo de’ Fiori, Piazza Navona and the Pantheon.
Generally, accommodation closer to historical sites (Piazza Navona, Pantheon) is more expensive. Lower
cost accommodation can be found near Rome’s central train station, Termini, a 20-30 minute bus ride to
Trastevere.

Please note that since Pope Francis declared 8 December 2015 – 20 November 2016 to be an
Extraordinary Jubilee, there are an unusually high number of visitors in Rome during this period. We
