assey Ferguson reasserts
direct control of its own
specialized tractors with
the launch of a product carrying,
for all intents and purposes, the
British trademark. The new MF
3600 VSF (vineyard, orchard and
special) series was designed for
this precise purpose: a project
completed by the British manufacturer in the U.S. Agco corporation
which has been run through tests
by Agco at their plant in Beauvais
and trials in the field for power and
endurance. As was underscored
by Agco Italia General Director Lido
Tedeschi, speaking at a press conference March 7 in Borgo la Bagnaia, near Siena, for the presentation, Massey Ferguson was the absolute first to market a specialized
line for vineyards with the historic
Vigneron which dates back to
1954 and carries the Massey Harris
Ferguson trademark. This means
more than fifty years of experience
in a sector which is turning out to
be increasingly packed with opportunities at the national level
(Italy counts some 1.5 million
hectares overall in orchards and
vineyards) and in Europe in coming
to terms with growing interest in
wine and fruit production. Sales of
specialized machines in the EAME
(Europe, Africa, the Middle East)
areas declined until 2000 and then
began a climb to reach 18,000
units in 2005. Italy, Spain, France
and Germany together account for
three-quarters of the EAME market
with shares, respectively, of more
than 6,000 units, little more than

casa costruttrice inglese, facente parte oggi della corporation americana Agco, e da
lei testato nel proprio stabilimento di Beauvais nonché
nelle prove di sforzo e di durata in campo. Come ha sottolineato il direttore generale di Agco Italia Lido Tedeschi, nel corso della presentazione alla stampa di settore
dei nuovi modelli, che si è tenuta il 7 marzo a Borgo la
Bagnaia (SI), Massey Ferguson è stata in assoluto la prima ditta ad immettere sul
mercato una gamma specifica per i vigneti, con lo storico
“Vigneron” risalente al 1954
e marcato Massey Harris
Ferguson.

scena cominciano a fare la
loro comparsa anche diversi

I nuovi trattori specialistici di
Massey Ferguson costituiscono un’estensione della gamma MF 3600, formata da

diesel (possono utilizzare il
B100), questi propulsori garantiscono un alto rendimento e produttività, con un
consumo ridotto di carburante sviluppando la coppia
massima a 1.400 giri/min.
Altri punti di forza sono le
cabine spaziose, l’assale e
supporto anteriore SuperTurn che, grazie all’innovativo profilo a clessidra e alle
ridotte dimensioni del motore (28 mm in meno rispetto ai 4 cilindri), garanMassey Ferguson MF 3635 V

che,dal loro debutto europeo
all’Eima International 2006,
hanno già totalizzato oltre
2.000 ordini. Abbiamo a che
fare, tengono a precisare i
vertici del brand inglese, con
una macchina pensata e sviluppata da Massey Ferguson,
quindi un prodotto Agco a
tutti gli effetti, anche se per
l’assemblaggio ci si affida alla Business Unit Vehicles
(Agritalia, Rovigo) del gruppo Carraro. La Serie VSF
presenta dieci nuovi trattori,
con potenze comprese tra 69
e 100 CV che offrono le stesse
specifiche tecniche e prestazioni dei modelli standard,
ma con dimensioni compatte
tipiche dei trattori specializzati. In particolare, i 4 modelli Serie F sono caratterizzati
da un’altezza complessiva di
2,35 m ed una larghezza
massima compresa fra 1,45 e
2,1 m a seconda degli pneumatici scelti. La serie V presenta una larghezza operativa minima di 1 m mentre i
modelli speciali S offrono
una larghezza complessiva
all’esterno delle ruote di 1,3
m. Per le serie S e F è disponibile come optional la cabina RC120, leader nella sua
categoria con 1,20 m di larghezza, e a partire dal mese
di settembre è prevista la
messa in commercio del GE
(Ground-Effect) in versione
piattaforma.

Spacious cabs, powerful engines and high torque
The new Massey Ferguson tractors come as an extension of the
MF 3600 range which consists of
four multi-functional and versatile
tractors which ran up more than
2,000 orders when they made their
European debut at the EIMA International 2006. The heads of the
British trademark took the trouble
to explain that what they have is a
machine conceived and developed by Massey Ferguson which
is, to all intents and purposes, an
Agco product, though assembly
has been given to the Business
Unit Vehicles (Agritalia, in Rovigo)
in the Carraro Group. There are ten
new tractors in the VSF series with
power ranging from 69 to 100 HP.
They all have the same technical
specifications and performance
levels of standard models but are
compacts, typical of specialized
tractors. In detail, the four Series F
models feature an overall height of
2.35 m and maximum widths of
1.45 m and 2.1 m, depending on
the tires chosen. The minimum operating width of the V series is 1 m
whereas the S special models
have an overall width at the tires of
1.3 m. For the S and F series, the
RC120 cab is available as an option, a leader in the category with
a width of 1.20 m, and the GE
(Ground Effect) platform version is
expected to come to the market as
of next September.
All the tractors in the MF 3600 VSF
Series mount three-cylinder SisuDiesel Citius 3.3 liter engines with
Tier 3 emissions manufactured in
the Agco plant in Finland. Other
than total compatibility with bio-fuel technology (they can run on B
100), these power plants ensure
high yield and productivity with reduced fuel consumption in developing maximum torque at 1,400
rpms. Other strong points are the
spacious cabs, the front-axle support SuperTurn system which,
thanks to the innovative hour-glass
profile and compact cylinder
blocks (28 mm shorter than the
four-cylinder blocks) provides exceptionally tight turning (steering
angle > 60°) along with lower wear
and reduced maintenance requirements, 12A+12R transmissions
with a speed of 30 km/h, 24A+24R
with a speed of 40 km/h and Power
Shuttle and Speedshift as options,
a rear lift with a standard lift capacity of 2,500 kg.
